Exam day on Oct 1..
Good luck! It is normal to feel this way. Since you have been preparing for 6 months, I think you'll do fine.

CNA Training in Philadelphia
Genesis healthcare and Delaware County Community College offer CNA training. Genesis healthcare is free, if you work for them.

Co-workers...when they run hot and cold on you.
Maybe they're suffering from burn- out syndrome. Perhaps you should let them know how you feel. Depending on how long this has been taking place, they maybe unaware of their attitude and the effect it has on others.

new grad RN looking for job. help!
I agree with the other posters. In this economy, you have to be open to non-hospital positions. There are a few that I graduated with, that are still holding out for a hospital job. Maybe you should try the prison system or LTC. Good luck with your search.

Excelsior Grad
I'm can't believe they even admitted their reason not to hire you. Sounds a little discriminatory.

Just a random vent
The worst is the former nurse patient!

home remedies you would NEVER try
My grandmother used the morning dew for acne. To treat ringworm, urine or bleach. I've also been told to use vinegar on top of a penny. If someone had a cold/ fever, she would tie onions on their wrist and forehead. I think they were put in their socks as well. A drop of turpentine in a spoonful of sugar, to treat intestinal worms. A spoonful of honey for a sore throat. Bathing with baking soda for a clear complexion. To treat pimples, toothpaste applied overnight. :heartbeat:heartbeatIf anymore come to mind, I'll post them.

It's all about who you know!
Sad, but true.

Help! I took the Nclex-PN once and failed need tips
I took my boards a few months ago. I don't know if there is much of a difference between the rn and pn boards. For nclex in general, I suggest taking your time with the questions. Even though the test is timed, you have to slow down and fully understand the question before answering. Also read each answer and evaluate them on an individual basis. If you eliminate answers, you can usually narrow it down to two options. I also suggest taking a formal review class. Good luck to you.

Philadelphia Area "New" RN: 30 applications rejected : When will my dream come true?
Have you considered jobs outside of the hospital setting. Maybe you should try LTC, prisons, doctor's offices, etc. The pay might be lower than a hospital but, it's a start. In the meantime look into flu shot clinics and agencies. Good luck

planning to take NCLEX. what shall i do??
I suggest taking a review class such as, Kaplan or Hurst. Saunders is a good comprehensive review book. They also have a book with just questions.
-
Did you get anything?
No. However, someone bought me a nurse mug for graduation.
-
What do you eat at 5am for breakfast?
Wheat toast with peanut butter or a cereal bar.
-
Do nurses learn how to read EKG's and do phlebotomy?
My school taught EKG interpretation, but not phlebotomy. They said it was a skill we would acquire on the job.

What are some reasons why some go for their LPN before they go for their RN ?
Most Lpn programs are 12-18 mo. The ADN programs are at least 2 yrs, usually not including pre- reqs. It could be accessibility, affordability, length of program, location, etc. A lot of employers now require a BSN. I would go straight for my BSN. Since you have a degree in Liberal Arts, some of your credits will transfer.
