How long between graduation and NCLEX?

Published

Our last day of LPN class is this coming Tuesday. I have heard other nurses talk about taking their test as soon as a couple of weeks after graduation. The director of our program said it would be the third week in September before we would get our authorization to test even though our applications will be sent right after we complete the program. I usually test well and did great on the HESI so the sooner the better as far as I'm concerned. Just wondered what some of your experiences have been. Thanks in advance :)

LOL. How about 23 years! I've been an RN for 23 years, graduated in Canada. Now I've been and RN in NC for 12 years, but my license was grandfathered into NC, but wanting to move to another state and need NCLEX to move. Sooooo, after all of these years, I get to write that big exam. Been studying since May, thinking of scheduling for Nov. My background is in Neuro ICU, ER, and surgical pre-op. Studying big time for OBS and PEDS. and of course just learning "how to do the test". So, I think it's not really knowledge based, it's more HOW to PERFORM on the test. I took Sylvia Rayfield's review which was good. Now just doing many questions everyday!

pedilove2417 which review course was that??

I finished school in Dec. 2009, got my ATT in Apr. 2010 (long story), took the NCLEX-RN in May 2010. Failed first try & reapplied & got my new ATT in June 2010. Retook the NCLEX in July 2010 & passed.
