I was down and hard on myself because it seemed like most of my classmates have gotten jobs. I kept on thinking, what is wrong with me? I graduated almost near the top of my class! I volunteer! I (think) my resume and cover letter rocks! Then one day, I read a post on allnurses.com that absolutely changed my life... You are reading page 2 of How I Got My Dream Job!. Congrats!

I'm going to try this and hopefully everything will work out!

If you do not mind me asking, how long was your email to the DON. And did you just say how you like there hospital and would love to work for them and how did you end the email? By saying attached is my resume and cover letter please contact me if you any questions, etc?

Thanks!

Hi Tokyorose,

Your post really inspired me. It is refreshing to see that there is some hope out there, and kudos to you for not taking no for an answer. I will take heed to your advice...Can you PM me the letter you send to the DON. That would be really helpful..

Thanks,

Joma

Nursing Annual Reports were all published online. If the organization is large, chances are they would do the same. I did not have any luck of finding these reports with the smaller organizations.

I've sent PMs to those who asked for my letter to DONs.
