Might seem like a silly question, but for the A&O pts who aren't incontinent, it puts you in a weird situation to just come out and say that you need to see their backside to check for pressure ulcer areas.
How do you make the situation less uncomfortable?
You should ask that multimillionaire that invented Girls Gone Wild, he never seems to have any problems getting people to expose themselves. Do you ever wonder how they approach these people and what they say to get them to pull their clothes off. I mean in my day you got arrested for doing that unless of course you were doing it for Playboy and then at least you got paid.

As a formerly-single male in his late-20s who did undergraduate at a party school, I can tell you exactly how he does it.
He hires attractive, college-age women to go out to bars, befriend these girls, buy them a ton of drinks, then ask them to get naked on camera.
If the creepy guy with the camera asks, they'll just say no. But if you get another woman in the same age range to ask, once they're already drunk they're much more likely to go for it.
I do a lot of butt-checking in my OB assessments. I just say, "Could I have you roll onto your side so I can check your bottom?" The only one I've ever heard refuse was an L&D nurse who said, "My boobs are fine, my butt's fine. You don't need to check."
Duly documented, moving right along.

I usually do my skin assessment during bath or 'freshen up' time. I have sometimes had to consult with a PCA when I didn't seem to get the opportunity. One thing I've learned as a student is that a good PCA is your best support when you are busy.
