Do you think children should have any rights? What about the rights of children to be safe from child molesters? One of the inmates I knew had raped little boys and the inmate was HIV positive. So they released him from prison. I guess he has the "right" to go out and destroy even more childrens lives. What do you think about child molesters? Thanks

OOO Blackcat99 - you are a bit of a stirer :)
This thread will quickly degenerate into a nasty little one. So why don't I start. They lose all citizenship rights and are to leave the country immediately. They are taken into international waters and kicked off. Problem solved
Also children don't vote and the monster does. Priority number one for most politicians seems to be re-elected.

This is a sore subject with me for personal reason. It's one of the biggest issues i've had to think about since i started working in a hospital and became a nursing student.
It takes a LOT for me to put my feelings aside.
We had a federal prison pt. that was in for r/o MI. His case was recent and it was all in the newspaper about how he'd raped several children under age 13. He had a very smirky expression on his face and made lewd comments at the nurses.
It took a lot for me as an assistant to go in there. I had to remind myself that this person was a pt. and it was not for me to judge. I did not treat him any different than i did any other pts. and i was very professional.
However, what do i think about molesters in general? Electric chair is not good enough. Lethal injection is too easy.

I agree with Marie...also for personal reasons. I think child molesters are about the lowest life form there is!
probably lower than that. The truly disturbing thing is that some don't even think what they are doing is wrong. Truly sick individuals

Wow, you all are being quite kind..... I was thinking much more like castrating them (no anesthesia).Let them bleed out slowly. Where I work they are segerated from the general population. I also think they should live with the general population and be in fear everyday!!!! After all some inmates children have been molested and they should get a shot at them first. Child molesters should not even get a second chance at possibly molesting another child after they have been found gulity. We had one at my facility that raped 120 little boys. He was a youth church minister at the YMCA. Swimming instructor. We housed him in the infirmary for 2 years. Had to "LOCK DOWN" the infirmary every day from 530-630 pm for his Rec time. He had a TV, private room and all the canteen he could eat. Living like a KING!
So that's my thought..........Any one else????

This sounds a wee bit nonsensical, and your post drips with emotion. I too find myself really stirred up about the injustice and cruelty of it all, and I've learned over time that those people and things I cannot change, I pray for and then avoid.
Perhaps a change of scene would bring more joy to your life--sounds like you've "paid your dues," maybe working with a group a little less (don't know what word to use here, but you get my drift) would bring you more job satisfaction.
Best wishes!
Thanks for your messages. I am so glad to hear that some people truly do care about the "victims" of these inmates.

I've got 3 little girls from my second marriage and a son from my first. My son lives with his father. His father has pled guilty to sexually abusing two of my son's g/fs. One child was five. The other was nine. Each time he recieved probation. He has also been accused of raping his sister when she was 15. (He and I married when he was 22 and I was 15).
After pleading to the first charge and being placed on the sexual registry, he was still allowed to coach co-ed little league softball. Gotta love small town politics and the good ol boy philosophy.... :angryfire
Personally if someone ever touches one of my children, there will be no police involvement, no trial, nothing....they will meet God quickly..and never be afforded a chance to hurt another.
