Or, if you're still looking, how long have you been looking since graduation?
I'm only asking because I'm graduating next week, and after celebrations and the such, I'm going to be on the prowl for my first RN position. I've supported myself through financial aid (thank you taxpayers!) and I have enough finances to cover me for at least another month. I'm really going to need to start working very soon! So I'm just wondering how long it took for you RNs out there to land your first position? Thanks!!
EDIT: I just viewed the thread that is related to my question...I would delete but not sure how to. Any responses are still appreciated, however!
Graduated/licensed in September, interviewed and offered position in mid-December, started mid January. I started looking while in school, but didn't get any interviews til after I was licensed.
Graduated this month (May) had an offer for a nurse extern graduate position since March started last week. Take nclex June 3rd and as soon as I receive my license # if I pass I'll be immediately promoted to clinical nurse (RN)
I graduated in May 2008 and had a job before graduation. I started looking around January or February 2008 and was hired in April. Seems like the classes following my graduation class had a much harder time finding a job due to the mess with the economy.
