How far out is NCLEX-RN scheduling? May 2020 COVID

Nursing Students NCLEX

Anyone who has recently taken, or scheduled to take the NCLEX-RN, how far out was your test date you were able to get? What was the soonest available? What area of the country are you in? I’m cutting it close with my program start date and wondering when I get my ATT how soon I can schedule. Thanks!

I don’t think other test centers are going to be much better. If things are already this back logged and Spring graduates haven’t even tried to schedule yet, just imagine how bad it’ll be in a month when all Spring graduates have an ATT.

You are right. It is interesting that Pearson Vue really isn't trying to think of alternative means of testing. The people who own the GRE brought on a proctoring service so that people could do it from home. Is it perfect? No. But we don't live in ideal times. Reducing the number of questions from 75 to 60 does no one any good if people cannot get in to take the exam.

Yeah, and even if test centers are open, they’re not functioning at capacity, maybe half? I’m full on expecting test dates to be sometime in September, October, or November by the time my school thinks we’ll get an ATT which is around 6/18.

I’m in NC. I got my ATT 4 days after graduation and was able to set a date June 1st. Try not to stress too much about it. I was worried to death because one of my teachers mentioned it may be August before we could test. But on another thread, someone mentioned that some people taking other tests (the centers don’t just do NCLEX testing) are cancelling their dates so more spots are coming open.

WOW! 4 days after graduation, that's the fastest ATT I've ever heard of! My school takes 8-10 weeks after graduation!

But thank you for the encouragement ?, I appreciate it...it's definitely a stressful time, especially when I already have a job and I know I won't make the start date.

Woah 8-10 weeks? What month did you graduate? I’m sorry you’re having to wait that long ? I know the stress. Before this virus hit I had accepted a job to start in June. I feel like I need more time to study, but with everything being so crazy I was afraid not to take the closest date. They really need to come up with a better solution.

I graduated two weeks ago. We're not expected to get our ATT's until the first or second week of July. I went to California State University.

I just received my ATT today and scheduled my NCLEX. Was not expecting such an experience. Be prepared to snatch whatever date you can. It was either I take it tomorrow, in 2 weeks (which I'm not prepared for) or in September. Very limited options. I ended up booking out of state in July, but even those options are gone now. They get booked super fast, I guess everyone is prowling the site for better dates/times. I'm in NJ btw.

How do the dates currently look like for June/July in NY and the surrounding states like Connecticut? I haven't found a way to see what are the available sites/times without my ATT.

There’s no way to find out unless you have an ATT.

There's like nothing in July anywhere except Norwalk, CT. Absolutely nothing in August anywhere. There were 2 other locations in northern CT I did not look at though. There was 1 location in Brooklyn that I saw had June 26. They go suuuuuper fast though so they're probably not available anymore. However, after checking the site MANY times, I managed to land a July date in NJ. It seems like they're constantly updating bc a bunch of June dates/times opened up as well. They were filled pretty quick, but the site was always changing/refreshing/updating. So if you dont get your first choice date/time/location, don't freak out like I did and just keep checking. I even emailed NCSBN and asked if they plan on opening up more sites/supplying more options. It seems like they're working on it. It depends on state regulations and availability of volunteers.
