Don't be nervous! You'll learn so much in clinical, it is my favorite part of nursing school. One piece of advice I would give: The night before, get everything in your car so you don't have to think about it the next morning.
As for carpooling, I wouldn't. Too many variables may come up, and you are responsible for being on time.
My clinical group got along great but we quickly realized car pooling was not going to work. We had to be at clinicals too early in the morning for is to meet prior to being there. Plus our school was pretty close to our sight so it was easier (and gave is a few extra minutes to sleep) to just drive to clinicals on our own.
Hello! I start nursing school in a week and was thinking about if our clinical group would want to carpool. Did everybody in your clinical group get along? Other advice welcomed!
There were 8 people in our clinical group. One person dropped out halfway through. We all meshed well personality wise, but I only carpooled with one another person. She and I became good friends quickly, and we took turns driving. We went out to eat often during our one hour break between lecture and clinical. Once the semester was over, our instructor and all 7 of us went out to eat, but besides that, we didn't really interact outside of school, and mostly everyone drove themselves to the site.
I started the semester driving by myself but ended up carpooling with three of the people in my group. We never had any issues with being late - we met up at an initial location and had a mutually agreed upon rule that we would leave at a set time, no waiting for stragglers. We took turns driving so it was nice to save on gas and also surprisingly great to be able to talk things through with my peers before and after the clinical day.
