I have to make the leap and ask. Do your applications look like your post? You did use some punctuation, so I have to figure you were trying. Your grammar is horrible. I was once in charge of hiring people and your application would be filed under T if it looked half as bad. If you just were not trying it would be one thing, but your post has some punctuation. This makes me think that you don't know how important it is to be well written.

You have commas where you don't need them and none when you do. You have poorly made sentences, spelling errors, and your entire post is in caps. I know that some people don't put effort into online posts and that is okay. It appears to me that you did put some effort in though. If I am wrong please do disregard me and feel free to hate me. Perhaps no one has ever thought this was possibility and didn't feel it necessary or too rude to tell you. The person that hires you has to trust you to pay attention to life saving details. The only thing that makes you different than every other nurse out there is your resume. Why take the person who has one error, when you can have a person that has none. If a person makes just one error on a resume that he/she has had forever to make, can I trust that person not to make an error when someones life is on the line in seconds? If your resume, charting, or english capabilities look anything like your post, I wouldn't trust you to give a Tylenol to my kids, and thats what an employer would say as well.

You may be the best nurse in the world, but before you are hired, to an employer you are a piece of paper. Make that paper perfect, if you can't take a class so that you can.

You are not alone. I graduated in Dec. 2009 and still haven't found a job.

My GPA 3.98, but I got no interview for new grad programs so far.

I applied in Oklahoma and will have an interview next week. I have to spend a lot of money for the trip though. I am not sure if I get the job.

I feel so frustrated and desperate.

I hope you're not limiting your applications to ONLY formal "new graduate" programs. I hope you're applying for any nursing position anywhere.

(Also, as another poster noted, if you write all the time like your post here, I would encourage you to have someone else proofread your resume', cover letters, etc., before sending anything out.)

These are difficult times to be trying to start a nursing career. Best wishes!!

I would not recommend Delray Beach, FL. There is a big reason why they are always hiring new grads.

Second, you need to improve your communication skills. If your communication skills are anything like your post, HR is not going to look twice before discarding your application.

Third, we are in a severe recession. ALL nurses are having difficulty finding work, with new grads being hit the hardest.

As a note, typing all in caps is considered shouting on the Internet. Typing an entire post in caps is hard on the eyes, and considered quite rude.

The biggest thing is not to limit yourself. Yes we would all love to start at on our dream floor or with our dream position, but right now thats not always possible. Look at places like convalescent homes, MD offices, and possibly military nursing. Things like that may not be ideal but will get you the experience you need to move on. Good luck, and don't give up. Research different types of nursing.

Hi to the original poster is the graduate programme a specialised programme for newly qualified nurses? In the uk and it is a requirement of the Nursing and Midwifrey Council that all newly qualified nurses should follow a Preceptorship Package - for at least 6 months to consolidate learning into practice. Is this what u mean? Also what is your speciality - is it ICU, ER or LD? as a british nurse I am vaguely familiar with those specialities because my sister lives in the US and is training to become a nurse but she is following the BSN route. One of my other sisters is an Advanced Nurse Practitioer

I get the impression that English is not your first language. Regardless, I hope you pay a great deal more attention to it when applying for jobs.
