Houston Residencies Summer 2019!!

Published

Can you believe applications have started opening up? Anyway, just an early start for everyone to discuss.

I'm planning on applying to Harris Health, Memorial Hermann, Methodist, & TCH, and I will be applying to multiple locations for each. I'm trying to decide if I should branch out and apply at some places out of state or not since I want a very demanding specialty, but I'm not necessarily ready to uproot my family just for my residency. I'm open to suggestions or thoughts from others who have been through this part of the experience already.

I’m not too sure, but it is to become a dialysis nurse. Our school advisor sent us the title of the position and from my google search, this is the description “DaVita Kidney Care’s STAR training program equips new teammates to become the best dialysis RN they can be. You will be hired as a staff RN from day one and will be trained in dialysis through our regional STAR training program. “

I believe they are always hiring. It’s an option... I’m hoping to hear back from other residency programs, but if I don’t, I might consider this.

Oh Okay I had already applied there while waiting. At the end of the day we will get in somewhere. No experience is wasted experience.

Best.

Completely agree! Not only that but not everyone gets matched and offered a job the first round of residencies. I graduated last August with my ADN and will graduate this August with my BSN. I got rejected last time and got an offer this time. Good luck everyone and keep your hopes high!

If you don't mind me asking what BSN program did you attend?

@VictoriousNurse For the DaVita Star Program? did you apply for Houston area? Was looking to apply too.

Anyone hear back from MH Children’s PICU?

For those who got rejection e-mails from MH Children's, did your email say anything regarding your second choice location? Mine did not, but I was just curious.

I did! They’re holding interviews this week.

Hello,

I was reading my email and CHI St. Luke’s said they would be sending email notifications on 3/25 for possible interview days. Has anyone recieved anything today?
