Houston Residencies Summer 2019!!

Can you believe applications have started opening up? Anyway, just an early start for everyone to discuss.

I'm planning on applying to Harris Health, Memorial Hermann, Methodist, & TCH, and I will be applying to multiple locations for each. I'm trying to decide if I should branch out and apply at some places out of state or not since I want a very demanding specialty, but I'm not necessarily ready to uproot my family just for my residency. I'm open to suggestions or thoughts from others who have been through this part of the experience already.

I am debating on weather or not to email/call them. But I don't want to come off as pushy. I just want to know.

I have a friend who was invited to match day at MH for L&D. She was saying they only invited 6 people for match day in that department.

How do you know how many people are getting interviewed for a specific unit?

has anyone heard back from Houston Methodist Willowbrook for any positions at all? or know of anybody that has? I went to the prescreen and was hopeful of hearing back but nothing yet.

They held interviews for their ED yesterday. Not sure about other units!

They sent her a link to sign up for interviews and they only had 6 slots for L&D so she assumed only 6 people were getting interviewed for that position. It’s just what I heard but not sure if it applies for all positions!

Has anyone else heard from Houston Methodist Baytown Hospital, I think offers and rejections were going to be sent out this week, but did not get either. Has anyone else heard for either besides the 2 people that have posted about getting offers at Baytown? Just curious!
