Houston Residencies Summer 2019!!

Can you believe applications have started opening up? Anyway, just an early start for everyone to discuss.

I'm planning on applying to Harris Health, Memorial Hermann, Methodist, & TCH, and I will be applying to multiple locations for each. I'm trying to decide if I should branch out and apply at some places out of state or not since I want a very demanding specialty, but I'm not necessarily ready to uproot my family just for my residency. I'm open to suggestions or thoughts from others who have been through this part of the experience already.

Whatttt???!?!? People got offers today? Was that only for Sugar Land?

I only heard of one person who received an offer today. It was for general med/surg in Sugarland and they are only giving her two days to decide. So intense! If you were there, it was the nurse manager in the red long sleeve shirt who gave her the offer. She must have done super great in her interview or the unit was looking to hire asap, or a combination of both! Either way, I'm happy for her. It didn't seem like a lot of ppl applied for med/surg because the med/surg tables were empty during the time I was on that side of the room.

I interviewed with 2 locations it was medsurg I don’t feel great about it the first one was intense and the second one I don’t even feel like she cared ? but at least I got some practice.

for houston methodist pre screen did most people get a second interview appointment on the spot? I don’t know whether to just think I didn’t get It cuz they didn’t give me one on the spot

Interviewed and recieved opportunity for 2nd interview on the spot. Lady was super friendly and actually was able to make a few jokes and smiles throughout the interview. Overall great experience with Methodist interviewers!

what location and unit was this for?

I didn’t receive a questionnaire from MH along with my behavioral assessment, nor did I get asked for supplemental documents. This happen to anyone else?

It still says received for my Children’s MH application.

I just submitted my questionnaire the last minute. Like 20 minutes ago. LOL

It was 48 hours after it sent to you, according to the email
