Can you believe applications have started opening up? Anyway, just an early start for everyone to discuss.
I'm planning on applying to Harris Health, Memorial Hermann, Methodist, & TCH, and I will be applying to multiple locations for each. I'm trying to decide if I should branch out and apply at some places out of state or not since I want a very demanding specialty, but I'm not necessarily ready to uproot my family just for my residency. I'm open to suggestions or thoughts from others who have been through this part of the experience already.

That's true, previous cohorts have told us people were getting offers the day of graduation, and the December cohort didn't find out until end of January.
MD Anderson Grad Nurse jobs in GU/Breast/GIM & Rehab/Neuro unit are open right now.
For the MH questionnaire did you add your resume and references to the document with the picked specialty at the end all on one document attached OR did you have the questionnaire with the picked specialty, resume, and references separate and attached?

Yes, I added the other documents to the questionnaire then scanned everything into one PDF.
I feel scammed by Houston Methodist.
Just came back from their Pre-screening for Sugarland and the email CLEARLY said "you will also have an opportunity to speak with your second choice" and they didn't allow me to that. Also, there was ONE position open for mother baby. ONE. And they interviewed hundreds of girls! Like...that sounds so dumb to me. Why do you waste your time and ours if you're only choosing one person?
ALSO, they only let us interview with one of our unit options. It's not fair! Why not give us the opportunity to speak to 1st and 2nd choices? Some lady was like "choose wisely cause there's 16 positions for med surg and 1 for mother/baby..." why would you hinder our options like that?

I think there are sooo many nursing schools in the Houston area plus Austin and Dallas that are graduating at the exact same time. So hundreds maybe even more are applying to the same jobs. I understand why they would want to limit people. Sucks, but I get it. They shouldn't have written you'd get an opportunity though if they weren't going to let you.

Wow, that’s ridiculous! I figured you would at least be able to interview with both choices. It even said on the first page to create your grad nurse profile that the 2 places and specialties you choose will be what you’re considered for.

Which person told you that you could only choose one unit to interview with? I only had one interview with mother/baby scheduled for sugar land, but they still allowed me to interview with two med/surg tables as a backup (like you said they told us there's only one opening for mother/baby...). The nursing manager for one of the med/surg units scheduled a second interview for me in sugar land. While I was waiting in line for the mother/baby interview, one girl told me that she was actually offered a med/surg position on the spot. Maybe it's not too late for you to contact HR and let them know you would still like to have a prescreen interview with med/surg! Wishing you all the best!
