Houston Residencies Summer 2019!!

Can you believe applications have started opening up? Anyway, just an early start for everyone to discuss.

I'm planning on applying to Harris Health, Memorial Hermann, Methodist, & TCH, and I will be applying to multiple locations for each. I'm trying to decide if I should branch out and apply at some places out of state or not since I want a very demanding specialty, but I'm not necessarily ready to uproot my family just for my residency. I'm open to suggestions or thoughts from others who have been through this part of the experience already.

the general reasonsing section was difficult. 7 minutes for 30 questions

I understand why they would want to limit people. Sucks, but I get it. They shouldn't have written you'd get an opportunity though if they weren't going to let you.

HM have interviewed 700 people at the pre-screening event. I asked a nurse at the end of the event

Does anyone have a specific contact person’s email for the Houston Methodist TMC location? I was sent the pre-screen email and applied for the Acute Care Days position, but didn’t get the automatic link for the assessment.

If you have filled an assessment out for Houston Methodist within 3 years they will not send you another link because they will already have one on file.

No. I did not receive the questionnair in the email, so I sent an email. The person sent me the questionnaire after that

OMG!! I screwed that one up. I thought it was one for each application.

I looked online at my app under status and I emailed the recruiter
