Houston Residencies Summer 2019!!

Published

Can you believe applications have started opening up? Anyway, just an early start for everyone to discuss.

I'm planning on applying to Harris Health, Memorial Hermann, Methodist, & TCH, and I will be applying to multiple locations for each. I'm trying to decide if I should branch out and apply at some places out of state or not since I want a very demanding specialty, but I'm not necessarily ready to uproot my family just for my residency. I'm open to suggestions or thoughts from others who have been through this part of the experience already.

Has anyone heard back after submitting the pre-screening questionnaire and assessment for Memorial Hermann?

If you applied to TMC they said you'd hear between the 18th and 24th.

How have prescreen interviews been going for everyone that applied to Houston Methodist?

I recieved an offer this Monday from Methodist after the prescreening.

Oh, okay. I applied to the Woodlands. But thank you!

Has anyone heard back from MD Anderson yet? I applied for the research nurse residency and Neuro/Rehab. I also applied for the critical care residency on February 2nd and my application status still says received.

My class graduates next week a lot of my class membes have already signed on with MD they all just spoke with clinical instructors that worked there and got right in so if you have a Professor or preceptor that works there I would definitely reach out to them one got on with ICU and another one will be in the palliative care unit

I have been communicating with a recruiter since before the app opened. It also says on the application which locations accept ADN's TMC and children's do not hire ADN and if you applied to those locations you wont have a chance to choose other locations.

Do you have an email for the recruiter? I couldn't find anything on the website

I got an interview last week and received an offer before the end of the week! I believe the job posting is closed now so they should be calling for/holding interviews around this time.

For MD Anderson, Have you already graduated or do you graduate in May? Did they call you or did you reach out to them to follow up on you application?

Finally got my packet from St. Lukes, although I've been offered a job with L&D since I precept there so I'm not sure if I'll interview or not. MD just sent me a behavioral assessment so hopefully I'll hear something soon!
