Houston Nurse Residency Summer 2021 Applicants

I wanted to start a new thread for those of us applying to Houston new grad nurse residency programs to ask questions and share information.

I am brand new to this site so I hope I'm doing this correctly... Good luck everyone!

I had my interview on Thursday for the TMC location and the recruiter said we should here back sometime next week or at least before April 1.

yes, that’s what I was told as well for HM TMC. that they would let us know about scheduling an interview with the unit by April 1.

Congrats to everyone who has received offers from hospitals in Houston! I wish you all the best with your residency ?
 

For people, like me, who haven't heard anything, did you guys apply or have heard anything about St. Lukes? I applied there and did the screening questionnaire thing, I know they said that they would start sending out interview invites this week but does anyone know how hard it is to get into their program? My guess is pretty difficult especially seeing how many people have applied vs how many spots are open.

Hi!!! Has anybody who has had their IN PERSON interview with Houston Methodist Willowbrook heard back yet? If so, how soon after your interview? I interviewed with their ED on Friday

Hi guys! I know some people have gotten offers from MH even if their application says “no longer under consideration” so I was trying not to lose hope but I emailed the recruiter to ask in case and this is what she said ?

Is it appropriate to email the recruiters & ask about what you can expect for pay increases after the new grad period ends ?  Does that come off as greedy? Or does it not matter LOL

For most hospitals it's after the first year.

Go to their career page and search "Clinical Nurse Residency"

There's only one open right now. From what I know, they are hiring year-round based on each unit. Most of them will say "Ideal candidate will have graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, passed NCLEX and an RN license."
