Houston Nurse Residency Summer 2021 Applicants

I wanted to start a new thread for those of us applying to Houston new grad nurse residency programs to ask questions and share information.

I am brand new to this site so I hope I'm doing this correctly... Good luck everyone!

I read somewhere that it "opens mid January to mid February" but they didn't have anything more specific than that

Anyone applying to the hospitals with their ADN? Or is it only me ?

I heard HCA takes a lot of ADNs and will do tuition reimbursement for your BSN. 

I’m graduating with my BSN tho so not completely familiar with it. That’s just what I have heard ? you will do great!

HCA is definitely on my list to apply to. The magnet status is stopping a lot of the opportunities for me but I just got hired on at Memorial Hermann for a nurse extern position so I’m hoping being a internal candidate would help some.

HCA will not hire you if you live more than 30 minutes from the Hospitals. Be sure to apply to one of the hospitals than is within the distance limit to where you live.

The Houston Methodist application doesn't have a spot to upload a letter of recommendation but it says its required for the program..? Anyone know if they'll just ask for that later or something?

Anyone still not seeing the registration button for methodist? I checked this morning and it still wasn't there.
