Houston Nurse Residency Summer 2021 Applicants

Published

I wanted to start a new thread for those of us applying to Houston new grad nurse residency programs to ask questions and share information.

I am brand new to this site so I hope I'm doing this correctly... Good luck everyone!

Has anyone from St. Lukes gotten a call back? I think my interview went well, but Im hoping to hear back soon! I also interviewed with St. Josephs today

So far I believe just the ED has sent offers at St Luke’s. atleast based on what people have said on here! I havent seen anyone else post about getting thing from other units.

Has anyone had an HR phone call interview along with a department video call interview? I am curious about the different type of interview questions for each call. Anyone have any insight?

I interviewed last Friday and received an offer (liver/kidney transplant unit) through email Tuesday morning. I just declined today though, so good luck to whoever gets that spot ?

I got an offer with a cardiovascular surgical unit and a surgical telemetry unit at St. Luke’s! I haven’t accepted yet because I have two other offers at the moment.

OMG that sounds so horrible I’m sorry you had to experience that! This is how it went down- I joined the interview day at 9am, and the guy running the zoom tested our mics/video and sent us to the breakout rooms 10 mins later.  I was paired with the director of women’s services and the director of med/surg in the breakout room. They didn’t ask me to tell them about myself, basically asked nothing about me and weren’t interested in learning about my work history, school, etc. They immediately began with the behavioral interview questions. I answered the questions to the best of my ability. their internet connection wasn’t that great, so their responses and mine were lagging and not heard until 30 seconds later. After they finished with the behavioral questions, they said I should direct questions to the zoom host. I began to speak and I was interrupted and they told me to leave the meeting. And that was it. I was unable to ask any questions, and the interview overall was flooded with “oh I’m sorry I didn’t hear that” or “oops sorry didn’t mean to interrupt you”. And it only lasted 15 minutes. How can you learn about and gauge a candidate in only 15 minutes? it was just not a great experience overall, and I left the meeting unsure of what’s supposed to happen next ?

Ugh I hate that.. hopefully you do get a call/email back.. I thought my interview went well but I haven't received anything so I'm hoping for the best for everyone!

@sk2020 have you heard anything from methodist TMC yet for OR? still haven't heard anything ?

I recieved an offer from Woman’s Hospital.

I just received an offer from HCA IMCU. Do y’all know if we can sign the contract right before we start? In case we hear back from other hospitals

Congratulations! I received an offer from HCA Med Center in the ED and I was wondering the same thing! I know I verbally committed but I’m thinking that we won’t have to sign anything until like 2 weeks before the start date!

I accepted an offer with TCH! Did anyone else accept an offer there LOL
