Houston Nurse Residency Summer 2021 Applicants

I wanted to start a new thread for those of us applying to Houston new grad nurse residency programs to ask questions and share information.

I am brand new to this site so I hope I'm doing this correctly... Good luck everyone!

Did anyone apply to a St. Joseph’s residency? Have you heard anything? I know it only closed last week though- so maybe they are just way behind everyone else?

I applied to St. Joseph. I’ll have a panel interview with the managers of ER, Labor and Delivery, and ICU departments (I had to choose my top desired 3 units because I had applied to all of their residencies’ openings LOL) tomorrow morning. The main recruiter had called me on Monday morning to invite me on for an on-site interview tomorrow.

I just accepted an offer for Dunn 9 Cardio/Heart Failure at Houston Methodist TMC!

Dang. I guess I’m prob not getting an interview then, LOL. I applied to 3 units on 4/14 - I had kinda forgotten they existed, haha.

After you guys receive the offer did you status on the Methodist career website change?

Mine didn’t change for about 3 weeks LOL. I accepted with Methodist Willowbrook

does methodist send out rejection emails for the residency? has anyone gotten a rejection email? My application still says under review and I never received an offer yet or rejection email. Just want to know where I stand ?

I got called for an offer at West and emailed about a rejection at TMC both for ER. My online application status hasn't changed at all though so I think it depends on the unit/location.

For oncology! I’m sure you will hear something soon. Seems like they’re getting back to everyone this week.
