Houston Nurse Residency: Spring 2023

Hello all! I wanted to start this thread for students graduating in December of 2022. I plan on specializing in either Pediatrics, L&D, or Postpartum! What field do yall plan to go into and where are yall interested in working?  I know that applications for some organizations will be opening up soon. Hopefully with this thread, we can keep each other informed and up to date. So far, I am aware that the Houston Methodist application opens on September 1st, and Memorial Hermann opens on September 11th.

Hi! Thanks for making this thread! I'm definitely nervous but excited for this upcoming residency application cycle. I'm interested in Pediatrics and NICU/Postpartum. I know Memorial Hermann has some Pre-Match Open House Days for different locations on Sept 6-9 that we can register for. I think TCH is also supposed to have their applications open with an open house on 9/13!

Hi, thanks for this thread! This information has been soo helpful! I'm interested in pediactrics, NICU, and postpartum. I plan on applying everywhere I can. I'm a little nervous since I don't have much connections or know anyone in Houston. I am in DFW but will be moving to Houston in less than a month.?

Hey thanks for making this thread! I'm interested in Ben Taub, MH, and Methodist in the TMC. Does anybody have an estimate as to when we should expect to start working?

Hi! I believe most residency programs would start around February.

Friendly reminder that Methodist applications opened today! Also LBJ is open for Harris Health too!

Thanks! I’m noticing that LOL I was hoping for a sooner start but I don’t mind a break from life

I believe it lets you choose from Harris Health hospitals so Ben Taub is an option too!
