Alameda Health System New Grad RN Program Fall 2024

Published

Hi everyone! Just wanted to start this thread for everyone applying to the AHS Fall '24 new grad cohort so we can get to know each other and share updates. I just applied for obstetrics and received an email back with supplemental questions yesterday. I'm an external candidate but have always wanted to work at Highland so hope it works out! Good luck everybody, we got this!💗

I've applied, I am an internal applicant. I spoke with a recruiter today informally extending an interview invite. I believe he said they will send out official invites on the 29th-30th? But their timelines make no sense to me. I applied to all 3 highland positions but ranked my choices 1-3 with the recruiter. He mentioned the interviews are panel with multiple units managers, and as I far 2.200+ people have applied . Good luck to us all!

I received an email about my shift preference yesterday. I was told after my response I would be sent a questionnaire 🤞🏼🤞🏼 still waiting. Good luck to everyone!

Hi, I am internal too and I also received a call from recruiter about my licenses and raking for the units. Gluck everyone

Hi! Just curious, for all the posts above who said they were contacted by the recruiter, are they only looking at internal candidates? Seems like the chances are extremely slim for external candidates if they are receiving over 2k applications and are already reaching out for interviews.

I've heard other new grad programs in the bay typically have a set number for internal new grad hires and external new grad hires per union contract, not sure what that's like for AHS.

I read the contract last time , they mentioned 50% internal and 50% external. But not sure if they based on that? I knew John Muir last cohort they went all internals, only 3-4 externals got in

I haven't heard anything about an interview. But I received  the questionnaire. I am external.

If we didn't get a questionnaire emailed to us, does that mean we are most likely out of the running for a new grad position? Those who did get a questionnaire to fill out, did you have experience in healthcare already or as a nurse elsewhere?

I believe they are still reviewing applications and will be sending out invites next week. I haven't received supplemental questions and am trying not to keep my hopes up.. not exactly sure what it is they're looking for..

I'm curious to know to those that got their supplemental questions— do you have healthcare experience? BSN versus ADN? Did you have your preceptorship in a unit where you are being invited for an interview? I'm an external candidate and trying to see how our applications are different.

Can those who received supplemental applications share the units they got them for?
