Democrats better be careful because there are quite a few of them that this could boomerang right back to. The Democrats and their media have been so hypocritical about this riot/protest compared to things they have said and done it is just ridiculous. Very little said when people were literally burning down cities, burning police stations and the Federal building in Portland, tearing down statues, people were losing businesses, people were being killed and injured etc, people overtook the senate offices and tried to break down the doors during the Cavanaugh hearings etc. But most liberal media and Dems were excusing it because it was justified, civil rights, they were frustrated etc. No difference here! That said, I think all of the violence is wrong and people better wake up and realize that we are all in this together before it is too late and this country implodes. Politicians are working for themselves and using us/dividing us for their gain.

None of what you mention is tantamount to inciting insurrection against the government of the USA. Trump did that.
You are excusing a violent attempt to overthrow the election for Trump. Deflecting to some other thing that is unrelated but makes you angry is a terrible defense for sedition or treason. Yet that seems to be what you are doing. I hope you noticed that it's not only Democrats that recognize and want consequences for Trump's malfeasance. Do those people simply get dismissed as rinos?
Double standard clear in rioters’ Capitol insurrection
... Black Lives Matter protests, 2020: Overwhelming force from law enforcement in dozens of cities. Chemical dispersants. Rubber bullets and hand-to-hand combat with largely peaceful crowds and some unruly vandals and looters. More than 14,000 arrests.
The U.S. Capitol, Jan. 6, 2021: Barely more than a few dozen arrests. Several weapons seized, improvised explosive devices found. Members of a wilding mob escorted from the premises, some not even in handcuffs....

I disagree that "very little is said" about the BLM violence and feel you are exaggerating about "burning down of cities" but that is the way Fox News and other outlets and the President portrayed it, like the country was ablaze, and will let you have that opinion.
Democrats widely condemned the violence but that message seems to be lost on some. It was however a cause they were sympathetic to. I've also heard the same thing from a Trump supporter today on BBC that there was no way no how she could be convinced that the cause wasn't right because the election was stolen, but she didn't condone the violence.
However, comparing what you mentioned to a President of the United States inciting a riot at the Capital and saying that there is no difference is a bit ridiculous. But again you're allow to think as you may.
All that said, Democrats need to calm down and listen to Biden that the best fix for this is January 20th.
Republicans and Trump followers need to calm down and accept this reality.
I didn't condone the violence! I am pointing out the hypocrisy of the Dems and the media who also could be charged with inciting violence for things they have said (according to their own standards). Pelosi, Obama, Holder, Maxine Waters, and Kamala Harris etc have all said things to this affect, apparently it is OK when they do it hence the hypocrisy. Trump didn't even outright tell people to do it, the claim is he incited, well if he did it then so did they because some of them did outright call for and/or excuse violence !
I do agree that everyone needs to calm down so we can move forward before we implode. I truly believe that the politicians, with help from the media (either knowingly or unknowingly) are trying to divide us, we the people, for their own benefit. Even if you think it is not purposeful that is exactly what is happening. Do you really believe that all will be hunky dory now that Biden is President, that he is the best fix for the country? I don't, but I hope I am wrong. I want him to do well because that is what is best for the country, assuming he is going to work for we the people, we will see (but I doubt it).

You're entitled to you opinion. That thought process is very flawed.
Seriously it's not inciting violence to report that a yet another cop murdered a black man and black lives matter and to express anger at that and demand that things change. This is how democracy works, there is an injustice and people protest.
Also how Democracy works is there is an election and those with the most votes win. It hasn't been proven otherwise despite countless accusations with lack of evidence.
However, it's fair to have a protest. That's perfectly legal.
But no one said you condone the violence.

Separate topic.
But oh heck no I don't think Biden can fix things. Trump and his loyal supporters will make his Presidency a living hell (with or without his Twitter account) and I don't think there's anything Biden can do about it.
We haven't been "hunky dory" in this country since Gore lost in a nearly 50/50 split and we've been 50/50 split since then with the tide turning ever so slightly back and forth from left to right.
I suppose by asking if Biden will be the best fix for the country, you're admitting there is something terribly wrong here and Trump certainly didn't fix anything, in fact it's worse now than ever in my lifetime since about 1969.
Mother Theresa couldn't fix this country.
But Goofy would be a better President than Trump.
Republicans need to decide if this, as his son says "is not the Republican Party but the Party of Donald Trump", or they are truly the Republican Party. Despite Trump's widespread popularity, they would do best without him and reclaim their party. It's been stunning to watch people like Graham and Cruz become his lapdogs. They need to man up and reclaim their party.
I really just want some common sense to return. I want people to make their decisions based on critical thinking and not buy into things like their rights are being taken away by communists. I heard this the other day and I just shake my head in shame and dread.

Of course it is not inciting to merely report or express anger. That is not what I am talking about. I am talking about the riots, looting, burning, taking down statues and the hypocrisy of the reporting and responses of some Dems and media to that as well as other incitements. Nancy Pelosi when asked if people shouldn't do it the right way (to remove statues) by going through the proper channels etc stated she didn't care a about statues and people will do what they will do, Maxine Watters told people to get in the face of Trumps cabinet and scream at them and don't give them any peace, Harris and 13 Biden staffers donated to a fund to bail out rioters and encouraged people on Twitter to also donate...these examples and more are what I am talking about. The news (CNN etc) made excuses for these riots while Fox condemned them, Fox also condemned the Capital protestors. Yes, people do protest when they feel there has been an injustice. The Trump supporters felt there was an injustice, and why wouldnt they when Dems, also supported by their media, have been trying to impeach, resist, investigate endlessly including Russia collusion etc for the last 4 years. Maybe if Biden really wants unity he would address the 75 million people who believe there has been some funny business. But so far all I see is the continued race baiting (calling police racist in his speech yesterday), and usual political BS.
Yes, I believe that this country is a hot mess and I am afraid it will only get worse because I don't have too much faith in this new admin. They are already gas lighting. Add to that big tech issues, media issues, the elites and lobbyists, yeah I am not thinking we are headed to hunky dory! But again, I hope I am wrong! I want common sense too, but I also want the government to work for the people like it is supposed to. I know many of you don't agree with me and that is OK, what scares me is the censoring that is already happening and has been. Can you say 1984!
Goofy LOL, I would prefer Minnie Mouse to goofy!

Latest draft of the Articles of Impeachment below.. Sentiment is that House will introduce on Monday via privileged resolution for impeachment, which does not require a hearing. Vote on resolution held on Tuesday and then send to Senate on Wednesday.
This evening, Mitch McConnell just sent memo to Republican Senators that any impeachment hearing/trial would start on January 19th when the Senate reconvenes; on January 20th McConnell reverts to minority leader and Chuck Schumer then takes over as Majority leader and would lead Senate discussions.
Lawyer Neal Katayal explains how fast impeachment process can occur + what Pelosi considering on Joyce Reids MSNBC show tonight.

Pelosi Statement Following Virtual Meeting of the House Democratic Caucus
Quote“Today, the House Democratic Caucus had an hours-long conversation that was sad, moving and patriotic. It was a conversation unlike any other, because it followed an action unlike any other.
“It is the hope of Members that the President will immediately resign. But if he does not, I have instructed the Rules Committee to be prepared to move forward with Congressman Jamie Raskin’s 25th Amendment legislation and a motion for impeachment. Accordingly, the House will preserve every option – including the 25th Amendment, a motion to impeach or a privileged resolution for impeachment.
“With great respect, our deliberations will continue.”

House Democrats are planning to impeach President Donald Trump for "incitement of insurrection," according to a draft article of impeachment obtained by CNN on Friday.
The push is being led by the Democratic lawmakers David Cicilline, Jamie Raskin, and Ted Lieu and the articles will reportedly be formally introduced on Monday.
A White House spokesperson decried the "politically motivated" impeachment push, saying that it "will only serve to further divide our great country."
This development follows the president inciting a violent mob of his supporters to storm the US Capitol on Wednesday to stop the peaceful transfer of power. The riots resulted in multiple injuries and five deaths...
