House Democrats are planning to impeach President Donald Trump for "incitement of insurrection," according to a draft article of impeachment obtained by CNN on Friday.
The push is being led by the Democratic lawmakers David Cicilline, Jamie Raskin, and Ted Lieu and the articles will reportedly be formally introduced on Monday.
A White House spokesperson decried the "politically motivated" impeachment push, saying that it "will only serve to further divide our great country."
This development follows the president inciting a violent mob of his supporters to storm the US Capitol on Wednesday to stop the peaceful transfer of power. The riots resulted in multiple injuries and five deaths...

I can not get this video "Midnight in Washington" re Rep. Adam Schiffs rousing impeachment testimony having replayed it throughout they year. Everything he said last January has come to fruition. President Trumps actions and words demonstrate numerous violations of the Constitution and will be used again to impeach him, preventing him from holding further office AND creating more havoc with our democracy.
There is further chatter of those involved in Wednesdays riot, regrouping and coming back to the Capital on 1/17; thus stopping assault on US government is priority at this time, Healing and Unity under President Biden will occur later if 75 million citizens have their eyes amd ears opened.
Was that before or after he called the police racist and the Trump supporters thugs (which maybe they were, but he was skewered by Dems for saying thugs), and I hardly think what he said is actually promoting unity.

Twitter Safety clearly explains why they permanently suspended Trumps personal account: due to the risk of further incitement of violence. @ Potus and Team Trump also being deleted. Same reason for impeachment.
His campaign has thousands of emails, cell phone #'s, message applications Lots of ways for the President to get his message out: Televised speech, Press conference, press release, radio address, newspaper interviews --- like in the good old days.

I didn't condone the violence! I am pointing out the hypocrisy of the Dems and the media who also could be charged with inciting violence for things they have said (according to their own standards). Pelosi, Obama, Holder, Maxine Waters, and Kamala Harris etc have all said things to this affect, apparently it is OK when they do it hence the hypocrisy. Trump didn't even outright tell people to do it, the claim is he incited, well if he did it then so did they because some of them did outright call for and/or excuse violence !
I do agree that everyone needs to calm down so we can move forward before we implode. I truly believe that the politicians, with help from the media (either knowingly or unknowingly) are trying to divide us, we the people, for their own benefit. Even if you think it is not purposeful that is exactly what is happening. Do you really believe that all will be hunky dory now that Biden is President, that he is the best fix for the country? I don't, but I hope I am wrong. I want him to do well because that is what is best for the country, assuming he is going to work for we the people, we will see (but I doubt it).
I think the republicans has destroyed themselves here. If Biden handles this well, the government should stay Democrat for a long while. He has two years to reform social media platforms which is the only avenue that Republicans have in the future. If he can take Citizens United away from them, they are finished forever.
He needs to stack the Supreme Court NOW and then go after Citizens United with a passion. He also needs to really choose the right AG. McConnell is up to his neck in Russia and China so he can be prosecuted. Almost every of the Trumpists appears to have some legal complications except for Tom Cotton who's the most dangerous.
Republicans have shown that they do not respect democracy or the constitution. However, Biden is too weak and conciliatory to take advantage but if Pelosi is given the leeway I think she's capable. This is a golden opportunity to remove the spine of the republican party.
The snakes within the republican party currently will take care of themselves. Biden has the opportunity to break them entirely.

Serious false equivalence. Trump not only encouraged violence, but called for the violent overthrow of a lawfully elected government and the disenfranchisement of 81 million voters. Not the same thing at all.

What you are doing with this statement is, indeed, condoning the violence. You are essentially saying that what happened at the capitol was OK with you because of these things that happened somewhere else at some other time. The post is pointing fingers at something else and other people when confronted with the reality that Trump and congressional republicans lied to a mob and incited a violent coup. The point of the quoted remark is to provide cover for the indefensible acts and plot.
Trump has routinely spoken about violence. Trump supporters have routinely explained it away, denied and defended it. Now here we are. People died because of this coup attempt. It is the pinnacle of hypocrisy for a Trump supporter to pretend to have any credibility in the subject of hypocrisy.
Of course it is not inciting to merely report or express anger. That is not what I am talking about. I am talking about the riots, looting, burning, taking down statues and the hypocrisy of the reporting and responses of some Dems and media to that as well as other incitements. Nancy Pelosi when asked if people shouldn't do it the right way (to remove statues) by going through the proper channels etc stated she didn't care a about statues and people will do what they will do, Maxine Watters told people to get in the face of Trumps cabinet and scream at them and don't give them any peace, Harris and 13 Biden staffers donated to a fund to bail out rioters and encouraged people on Twitter to also donate...these examples and more are what I am talking about. The news (CNN etc) made excuses for these riots while Fox condemned them, Fox also condemned the Capital protestors. Yes, people do protest when they feel there has been an injustice. The Trump supporters felt there was an injustice, and why wouldnt they when Dems, also supported by their media, have been trying to impeach, resist, investigate endlessly including Russia collusion etc for the last 4 years. Maybe if Biden really wants unity he would address the 75 million people who believe there has been some funny business. But so far all I see is the continued race baiting (calling police racist in his speech yesterday), and usual political BS.
Yes, I believe that this country is a hot mess and I am afraid it will only get worse because I don't have too much faith in this new admin. They are already gas lighting. Add to that big tech issues, media issues, the elites and lobbyists, yeah I am not thinking we are headed to hunky dory! But again, I hope I am wrong! I want common sense too, but I also want the government to work for the people like it is supposed to.
