First I'd like to say hello to everyone. New is the best word to describe me. I passed boards in September and all of a sudden I'm an RN. I'm on the quest now to interview and feeling overwhelmed. Any advice or suggestions for a new grad seeking her first job.

Hi! I've been an RN for 3 months now & I'm still adjusting to writing "RN" after my name! :) As for a job...did you do a student internship during your last semester? That's how I got my RN job; the med/surg unit I did my senior student internship on last semester hired me once I passed boards. Or you could look up the websites of local hospitals & do a job search, or look in the newspapers, ask around -like ask your nursing school friends who have jobs if there are any more openings where they work, or even ask your old professors if they know of any places looking to hire. Good luck & welcome to nursing! :)

Congratulations to you!
I moved this thread to the First Year in Nursing Forum, hoping to get it more exposure and possibly useful advice for you in your first year as an RN.
Good luck!

Welcome here... if you ever have a question about anything remotely nursing-related or even not so nursing-related this is a great place to find several different, interesting, good opinions and thoughts and encouragement, and perspective!! Isn't it wonderful, writing RN after your name??? My class was the last to do paper and pencil and it took us two days to take NCLEX. When I got my results back in a large brown paper envelope and it said RN after my name, I knew that I had made it!!!! WHOOPEEE FOR ALL OF YOU WHO PASSED NCLEX AND GOOD LUCK TO ALL OF YOU WHO STILL NEED TO TAKE THEM!!!!
Wow!! I love this this site. I'm interested in starting on a Med/Surg Unit. After a year or so my interest are Neuro, Ortho and Geriatrics. I'm also interested in teaching one day. OOOOh so many dreams, so little time. Are there any of my wonderful collegues in Chicago who can toot their own horn about the hospital their working in. I would love the feedback. Thanks, you guys are great.
