I have decided to start a thread for HCC future nurses that are applying for class beginning 2015 of spring. I would like us all to be able to share and relate to one another, while experiencing this exciting moment. I know it may seem a little early but better sooner then later. This will be my last semester before I can apply to the program. I am registered to take micro with lab and humanities fall 2014. I will be able to submit my application in right after my grades are posted. The deadline for the 2015 spring class is June 1st if I am not mistaken. How is everyone else holding up?
Well I know for a 100% fact that gpa just happens to always be lower in spring, because fall get a more applicants so less of the lower gpas get in. Every advisor says different things, and they come and go constantly which is why. Don't really listen to them anymore lol some are not to be trusted. I've had the wrong info given to me I don't even know how many times. However, technically the spring gpa may not be lower because it's not like there is a lower cut off or something. It just depends on whose applying. And fall always gets more applicants.
hi there, you are 100% correct. Although it is a popular belief, spring cutoff is not lower, the applicants just tend to be less. but there are semesters like the one where I applied that there was a very largegroup of applicants which is why we received ourletters so late, almost in october. 3.7 is almost always theguaranteed accepted gpa cutoff and anything below is that is really dependent on how many apply, how many accept seats, etc. anything below 3.5 is abig gamble and at that point applicants should definitely consider other options.
Hi everyone... I hope all is well. Since applications are in I can no longer provide any anecdotes of wisdom re: my original application experience, however I wanted to share that my Summer A Trigonometry class is now over and it was a success. Though it won't be official on my transcript until early August once Summer B ends, I project an A, as my Final Average appeared to be a 91.7% before the class ended. I'm thrilled to say that this will override my B in MAC1105 and bump up my previous 3.52 to a 3.67, validating my whole point for taking Trig after all. That said I am now in a much more comfortable place for the Fall 2015 cycle than I was before, so I'm crossing my fingers that I will see you all in the class after you for August of next year. :)
Once again I'm thinking good thoughts for you all. Until decisions come around the 3rd week of September, enjoy the rest of your summer!

You're not the only one!!! I confess that I do it practically everyday too, sometimes I forget if I checked it or not and possibly check it more than once a day lol! I can't wait until we all get our acceptance letters !!!!
