I have decided to start a thread for HCC future nurses that are applying for class beginning 2015 of spring. I would like us all to be able to share and relate to one another, while experiencing this exciting moment. I know it may seem a little early but better sooner then later. This will be my last semester before I can apply to the program. I am registered to take micro with lab and humanities fall 2014. I will be able to submit my application in right after my grades are posted. The deadline for the 2015 spring class is June 1st if I am not mistaken. How is everyone else holding up?
Okay. Thank you!! I did receive the postcard, and my check has been cleared, but nothing has changed on the website. Well, we can't really do anything other than waiting, so we just wait, wait, and wait....
Me too Zosan! It says that nothing has been received, missing, needed, etc. However I did speak with the nursing department through email and they confirmed my application receipt, check cashed, etc. What torture!!! lol
You're welcome. Yes..that's all that matters. I'm just dreading the drive. I was actually there a few weeks ago at the courthouse with my husband. On our way home I saw HCC and said sheesh I feel bad for whomever has to travel up here....and guess who got it hahaha me! I still have loans from Medical Assisting school and that was in 2004 so don't feel bad. Everything will work out for all of us! I am in summer classes now and there is a girl finishing up the PC nursing program. So I will overload her with questions hahaha and keep you guys updated!
What was your GPA that you got I to the program with?
No need to worry...I have heard that it is much lower and I didn't even realize that when I applied. Like I said I was a 3.67 and an alternate. There are other alternates that got in with 3.5's. So don't get discouraged that's what I was always told because many people apply for HCC as a secondary program. There are also medical emergencies that arise or pregnancies where people can't go on. You will be okay so don't stress it...and if you don't get in it wasn't meant to be. Just pray about it and leave it in God's hands..that's what I did. This nursing program is very competitive because honestly from the way my advisor spoke about my GPA she said I wouldn't have anything to worry about. Create a back up plan... just in case because you never know!
Hi guys..I spoke with an advisor asking her what the average GPA is for the Spring. She told me she didn't have that info yet. I also said will it be lower than Fall. She said not necessarily..so don't think that the GPA is supposed to be lower for the Spring. I guess it just depends on who has entered the program and what their GPA is.

You're welcome. They will probably be updating the website within the next few weeks I'm sure.
