Just finished my prereqs and getting my application ready to submit for the fall term at Hillsborough Community College. All A's and except one C for my prereqs, brings my GPA to 3.71. Hopefully it's good enough to get me in.
Anyone else applying to this school for fall?

Your GPA sounds pretty good. Good luck with your program.

Hi alicat,
I will be applying for the Spring 2016 class, but I was wondering what the TEAS V test was like (since they've now added it to the application process starting with the Jan 2015 application period). Thanks!

Rmhill,
the TEAS wasn't too bad. I personally think the practice tests are harder. There was A LOT of chemistry though. It's hard to study for the science section because there are SO MANY possible questions they could ask you. I would say study the other 3 topics and do really well on those and it will make up for the science if you don't do well there. I bought the ATI review book and studied from that, it absolutely helped! Good luck!
Thanks for the tips alicat! Yea I did hear there was a lot of chemistry, which I'm not very comfortable with , but it'll be fine. I got the ATI study manual as well, and access to the 2 online practice tests. It seems to be pretty good. I really hope I pass! Thanks for the good wishes! Thank goodness we have two chances. I take it in January..Good luck getting in the nursing program! With that GPA, I think you're golden.
Thanks!
Thanks exactly what I did to study, The online tests and the practice exams in the book. I took one before studying at all, then from there assesed what I needed to focus on. You will be fine. Remember, if you need to take it a second time you have a waiting period in between tests so make sure you leave yourself enough time in case you do need to retake it. But you only need a 60% so it's not so bad. Good luck!

Yea, I know about the 90 day waiting period between attempts, and left myself enough time...although I'm worried because before ATI had exam days listed for months in advance (cause I registered for my test date back in July)...but now it stops listing them in early Feb...I won't be able to do my retake til April (if needed)..so I'm scared they wont offer any then..
I can't believe no applicants have posted here yet! Lol
I know! I'm all alone...
It's just shocking because in past threads, tons of applicants were posting and conversating well before the application deadline (cause I've stalked every HCC nursing class on here for awhile haha

I've had the same problem with nobody replying to the thread I started for Summer 2015 transition program. I just turned in my application last week. I think we have the same deadline as the fall traditional class.
I'm sure people will eventually start to post. Maybe everybody is just busy with the holidays :).
Alicat,
So I'm taking the TEAS tomorrow..not anywhere near prepared for it 😑...I've seen other people get print outs of their score immediately after testing, did HCC do this? I'm embarrassed for anyone to see what I score...probably gonna have to do the retake, didn't devote anywhere near enough time to study.
PS-no posts here, still???!? Lol
