Hillsborough Community College Fall 2015

Published

Just finished my prereqs and getting my application ready to submit for the fall term at Hillsborough Community College. All A's and except one C for my prereqs, brings my GPA to 3.71. Hopefully it's good enough to get me in.

Anyone else applying to this school for fall?

Congrats! I accepted their invitation, however I'm waiting on USF's response. If they accept me, I will have a tough decision to make.

Congrats to you as well! When do you find out about USFs decision?

I received my acceptance letter last week also!!! I am hoping for the plant city campus, as that was my first choice. I figure we will find out which campus we will be attending during orientation. I would love to know about the books also. I'd like to get a head start on the reading to help ease my anxiety! LOL!

Well congrats to you! What was your GPA? As excited as I am, I'm just as nervous! I was hoping for nights and weekends but we shall see. I heard you find out a few weeks after acceptance (I hope that's the case!) and I heard you get them at orientation. LOL

My GPA is 3.53 and my teas score was 77.

USF will send out notices in 3 weeks. I've decided to stay with HCC regardless of USF response. I will then do the RN to MSN program at USF after HCC.

I was looking at that option at USF too, Todd. Well I'm glad you're staying with me! Do either of you know others that were accepted? Seems like this semester doesn't have much activity on here.

I just got my acceptance letter from HCC; it was dated 2/25/15. I have till 3-16th to accept and complete the process. However, my letter doesn't state what campus I'm assigned. I'm hoping I am assigned to South Shore since I live only a few blocks away.

I Todd, Congratulations! I was accepted too! I just dropped off my paper work and did my fingerprints yesterday. Now just gotta do orientation in June. I'm hoping of the South Shore Campus as well. I take all my classes there bc I live close.

I know HCC has a program connected with USF for a BSN, Do they have one for the MSN as well or is it totally separate?

Curriculum - Adult Gerontology Acute Care - USF Health - Tampa, Florida

I'm looking at the Adult-Gerontology Acute Care RN to MSN program. I know it is 2 to 3 years from now, but I like to plan ahead. It is 48 credit hours, plus an additional 15 credit hours for those lacking a BSN degree. They have a handful of RN to MSN programs with additional bridge coursework. The MSN Nurse Anesthetist seems to be the most intense program they offer. I like USF, and enjoyed earning my Bachelors there. There are so many opportunities once we complete the ADN program. UF's PA program looks appealing if you completed a lot of science courses. It is a two year program. I wouldn't stop at ADN. My neighbor is a RN, and informed me that the hospital's prefer applicants with BSN degrees. I'm not sure how accurate that is.

I received my "Alternate Status" letter last week for the Fall Semester. My first choice was Plant City nights. Obviously I turned everything in right away and now I am just waiting to hear back. Fingers crossed!

Anyone every known anyone to get an alternate status offer but then actually be fully accepted into the program?

What was your GPA Kate? I've seen each semester alternatives get accepted. Fingers crossed for you!
