Just finished my prereqs and getting my application ready to submit for the fall term at Hillsborough Community College. All A's and except one C for my prereqs, brings my GPA to 3.71. Hopefully it's good enough to get me in.
Anyone else applying to this school for fall?
Hello, I applied to HCC 2015 fall semester. I have a B.S. in Business from USF and also applied to their accelerated program. I doubt I will be accepted to USF since they get way more applicants. I also applied to SCF in Bradenton and Florida SouthWestern State College in Punta Gorda as back ups. I am doing a career change out of management and will be 38 this year. I'm excited for a new career path and a little nervous doing a change at my age. I took the TEAS V but only scored a 77.4 overall. I have to take it again and improve my grammar score to apply at SCF. Its interesting how each school has so many different requirements and tests for entrance. I had to write an essay for USF, take 4 extra classes for SCF, take HESI entrance exam for FSW, and TEAS for HCC.
For those that stalked other threads, do you know what the lowest GPA they accepted in the last few semesters? My prerequisite GPA is only 3.57. I won't win a tie breaker since my over all GPA is much lower. Being accept at HCC southshore campus would be ideal for me. I only live half a mile from it and would be so convenient, since I have a toddler to take care of.
I think its hard to find this post bc of the tags used. If you type in HCC nursing fall 2015 it doesn't come up unless you spell out HCC. Just a thought. I applied to the fall program with a GPA 3.57, which is pretty low for fall. I applied last year but got denied bc I was unaware they deduct .2 if you've attwmpted a class 3x. Not sure why my academic advisor didn't inform me or guide me on what course to take. However, I didn't submit my HS transcript again since they already have it on file and I couldnt get it time, so I'm thinking I'll be denied for incomplete app and have to apply for spring. But I guess it could be ok since spring is easier to get into.
