Hillsborough Community College Fall 2011

Published

Hello all HCC Fall 2011 hopefuls! I have been following the Fall 2010 and Spring 2011 threads and thought maybe it was time to start Fall 2011 now that the application process has started.

I just turned my application in this past week and received my confirmation notice in the mail. Anyone else out there that has turned in their application?

What are your plans over the next 8 months to prepare for the first semester (provided we get in)?

yaaaaay I got in!!!! I had a 3.87GPA. Did anyone else notice that they put the dates for orientation as wed. June 23rd and thursday June 24th??? According to my calendar those dates are actually thursday and friday? Can anyone who has been emailing possilby email and see if this is a typo and it is wed/thursday or if it is actually thursday and friday? I am in a wedding in Michigan on the 25th and need to know when I can fly out of Tampa to get there!!

my husband just checked the mail for me--i got in! my gpa was 3.714, i have until april 1 to reserve the seat.

ok i haven't yet read the letter but i'll email MG when i get home.

Clemso, have you had to retake any of your prerequisites or do you think that they miscalculated your GPA or do you simply think that 3.57 was their cut off? I am in shock that it jumped from a 3.42 cut off to a 3.57 in just one year.

CONGRATULATIONS KIKILYNN AND MARKEYG!!! :yeah::yeah::yeah:

Just checked the mail.... gotta wait til tomorrow!!

Well, your confidence makes me feel better! So miscalculation on their part? I agree. I can't see how it would be possible for the cut off to jump from a 3.42 to a 3.57. No way. I guess we'll know soon enough when I get my letter tomorrow. Jeez, if I don't get my letter tomorrow, then I am going to FLIP!!!

I'M INNNNNNNNNNNNNNN!!!!!!!!!! :D (and yes I bawled like a baby)

You are right, there is a mistake in the letter. The days and dates don't match up......

Specializes in Pediatrics, PICU, Mother Baby.

I repeated one class and got an A. Anyone know if that affects my GPA in any way or is it still based solely on my current grades??

Mrsgood, I believe that it only affects you if you retake a class more that once, meaning if you drop it once and retake it, it's okay, but if you drop a class twice then take it for the third tie, they'll deduct points from your GPA. I think they deduct .2 points after the first drop. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong!

If you only retook one class one time, then you're fine!
