Hillsborough Community College Fall 2011
For anyone looking to get a GREAT deal on a few of the books we need for class let me know. Long story but I order all the books last December and forgot about them and then reorder them this summer, so I ended up with 2 brand new books of the Potter/Perry Fundamentals of Nursing 7th Edition along with the study guide. I know I paid over $125 for both books but will sell them both for $50.00. I also have an extra brand new Kaplan NCLEX-RN 2010/2011 review book, which I paid $35 for but will sell for $10. None of the books have even been opened.... Let me know via e-mail ASAP because I plan on posting them on-line for sell.......

Hillsborough Community College Fall 2011
I was excused from the NP I orientation last week but I feel like I may have missed some things. I actually went through the orientation for the Spring 2011 term so I basically know what transpired. I was just told by another student that the uniform is changing to a white top and wine colored pants. Would someone please confirm this? I will be attending the daytime program at Plant City. Does anyone know what day the clinical portion is? I spent most of the day completing the BayCare Hospital requirement and I would suggest not putting it off till the last minute because it is time consuming. Does anyone know if the "box of books" for NP I are ready to be purchased through the bookstore? I'm ready to open up some books and starting reading..... Thanks!

Hillsborough Community College Fall 2011
In my opinion 12 to 15 people is not that many alternates. I think for the Spring 2011 term there were 174 people admitted and like I said I think almost all the alternates got seats, I know a very happy person got mine that I gave up. If your an alternate, just keep praying that the door will be opened. You would be amazed how many people decide they don't want to take the "seat".

Although I can't swear to it, I believe I heard during the orientation that I attended for the Spring term that there were about 12 to 15 alternates for the Spring 2011 term and I thought they were all admitted.

I actually e-mail R.S., the Program Manager for the Nursing Program about the orientation dates in the letter and here was her reply: "The letters go out from Admissions. They get the dates from me, but they prepare the letters. Actually, we have had to make a slight change anyway. Orientation is now Tues 6/21 and Weds. 6/22. I will let them know about the mismatched dates." R.S. was in charge of the orientation last Fall and the program, which is why I e-mailed her regarding orientation.......

You are right, there is a mistake in the letter. The days and dates don't match up......

Hillsborough Community College Fall 2011
I got my acceptance letter, I'm in! My GPA was a 3.71, so who knows where the cut off is. It is my understanding the GPA cut off is always higher for the Fall term than the Spring term. For those of you that got an alternate seat, I would accept it. I think almost everyone with an alternate seat got in for the Spring term because you have people deciding not to accept, even at the last minute, for various reasons. Good luck!

You're right, when I was accepted for the Spring 2011 term I received my campus assignment right after the appeals were complete......

I applied and was accepted into HCC Nursing program for the Spring 2011 semester; however two weeks before school started I decided to give up my seat and re-apply for the Fall 2011 semester due to a personal issue that would have possible not given me enough time for studying this semester and caused me to fail. Everyone that I know in the nursing program at HCC says that you have to do an insanely amount of studying in the first semester, otherwise you quite possibly will fail. Anyway my GPA is a 3.72 and I have transcripts from 3 other colleges; and even though I was accepted into the program for this Spring term, to this day, all of my classes required for the program still have not been put into the HCC system. Like many of you I was so worried when I applied the first time because nothing was being posted into the HCC system. I submitted my application on January 7th for the Fall 2011 term and I included a return post card so that I would know it was in the hands of the nursing department. I received the post card back immediately and got an acknowledgement e-mail on January 20th saying my stuff was received. My check was cashed shortly. Although under "My Profile" my "Academic Program" has changed to "A.S. - Applicant / A.D.N. Basic", under "My documents" it still does not show anything received and all of my required classes still are not posted. This time around I am not worried and would tell you to relax and enjoy your time off before school starts. Good luck everyone, hopefully we will get letters in March! The waiting does suck....- Keiser University as of June 2010 reviews
I am personally a fan of Keiser and think it's a great school; however as you are aware it is expensive. Although the medical assisting program may be good, I personally would not go there for that program because of the cost. There are tons of places that offer medical assisting for much much cheaper. Figure that the cost of the program is about $7,500 per semester and I think the program is at least 4 semesters. You could come out of school deep in debt and as a medical assistant you will not make a ton of money. Look at technical schools because the total cost for their program is about $2,500 and I've seen other schools that offer medical assisting for less than $10,000. Good luck!- Roll call: Hillsborough Community College Spring 2011
Another Question - Silly question but - how many additional classes are doable while taking the 10 credit hours for nursing?- Roll call: Hillsborough Community College Spring 2011
I also bought the Timberland Pro Renova's a few weeks ago and really love the way they feel. I got mine through Sears because they were on sale with free shipping.- Roll call: Hillsborough Community College Spring 2011
Yes, I am assuming I got days since it does not say evening/saturdays..... I guess they will tell us in orientation how it will be determined if we get morning or afternoon classes. Any idea how that works? - Hillsborough Community College Fall 2011
