HEY HAS ANYONE TAKEN MICROBIOLOGY ONLINE WITH LAB THAT DIDNT NEED A LAB KIT??!
SO frustrating I toke it at York College and it was 3 credits I am currently in a AAS RN program that says I need to take it somewhere that has it for 4 credits and i can transfer it in but this cluster is my second semester with clinical I want free time to take it online.
All the recommendations i see is from 2007-2012 nothing recent..
Helpppppp I can't go into School 12hr clinical and lecture in nj and also go into a classroom for micro lecture and lab... I tried Cayuga but the lab kit is dam near $350 and microscope $150 and class $900 not to mention I'm paying for nursing school out of pocket ($7065) this semester so its really really hard on my pockets.

You're a little hard to follow but I think you're trying to find a microbiology course that is acceptable to your nursing program but don't want to spend the money for the lab kit, or the time for the classes. What is it you're looking for?

You may be searching for a unicorn. Just because you want to find something doesn't mean that it exists. Even if it did exist, would it meet the criteria for a nursing pre-requisite? I am trying to imagine how you could do micro without any physical equipment at all.... holograms? Complete virtual reality? I'll be interested to see if anyone is moving in this direction - at a cost that would be affordable to average students.

There are lots of online micro courses with labs....but they're going to cost money ( usually pretty pricey BECAUSE of the lab kit) AND I have yet to see any online bio course that includes the microscope.
So, you're going to have to resign yourself to paying for the privilege of taking the course online, buying a microscope and accepting that any biology course is going to be a time suck. Possibly even more so when you do one online since you are, solely responsible for EVERYTHING.
Sorry it's working out like this for you. Good luck!

I took online micro and all the students were able to rent the microscope from the school's library. They shipped it to our house and we shipped it back afterwards.
We did have to purchase a $200+ lab kit.
thanks i did micro at a four year college and it was 3 credits the program i'm in now says it has to be 4 credits smh to travel to take it with my third cluster of nursing classes is going to be alot! I saw people talking about edukan from threads from 2012

Check out straighterline .com its a website that offers courses online and they do offer mirco. You can look up your school on their site to see if it accepts their credits.

The reason 4 credits are required is because you need 3 lecture hours plus 1 lab hour. If you need a lab, then you need the lab kit. You can certainly find courses that use virtual labs, but they are as much as Cayuga:

Not sure I'd want a nurse who cut as many corners as possible in microbiology, especially seeing as how important infections are in our profession. Not a good start, IMHO.
