Hello everyone, I will be starting the new PMHNP program at Herzing University in September. Trying to see if there is anyone else that will be starting the program so that we can connect. Since it's a new program, there is no topic about this specialty and maybe this can provide opportunity for potential students to discuss.

Nice class. Lots of readings, few simulations on shadow health, and challenging quizzes.
I start psychopharm on Monday. Do you know anything about the course besides the book? I have Dr. Kubiak--anyone else?

Are you starting psychopharm? the facebook group is very helpful so far.

I had Dr Kubiak for Advanced health Assessment and will also have him for Psychopharm. He is amazing. We’re lucky to have him.
I start Pathophysiology class on Monday and I am so worried. Anyone has a PowerPoint for this class. Any help is appreciated! My email address is [email protected]
Well, I have just applied and waiting to hear back for May enrollment in the PMH program. Now that some of you have been in it for a while, do you feel the program has been more defined and some of the kinks worked out? ShadowHealth assignments, do you have mutliple attempts to complete them and see your strengths and weaknesses? I just completed my FNP in October (Aug graduation) due to COVID and we had a lot of growing pains during that time. What is the generic course outline- since I have not heard back quite yet- I think I would be looking at:
Roles for NPs (may be waived -depending)
Adv Psychopharm/Health Promo
Clinical Decision Making in PMH
Counseling and Psychotherapy
PMHC I, II, & Practicum
Thank you for any feedback!
Shaddow health has unlimited amount of attempts.
Not too many kinks and 8ts well organized but the amount of work for each module is clearly insane and unheard off eg. Adv. Pharma now has each week: 2 discussions, 4 replies, paper assignment 8 pages and test.
The program is well organized and gives weekly live lectures

I’m not sure where you are in the program but it is very disorganized. Every week for Psychopharmacology we have something go wrong and we have to get extensions on assignments, or the lecture comes out late in the week, or the assignments don’t make sense. Not to mention, the work load is insane for one class.

Yes I’ve already been looking into other programs. Lectures are subpar, just reading from the PowerPoints mostly. Overall, just dissatisfied. Just teaching myself everything.
So I am also in the psychopharm course and do not feel the workload is that over the top compared with other PMHNP programs. A colleague of mine is in the post grad PMHNP at Liberty and has way more assignments than we do each week.
The program is what you put into it. I find the workload for advanced pharm to be good. My instructor does very good zoom meetings. I am taking two courses, and working 2 full-time jobs. It is very doable, but you must be organized and have a set schedule to do the content. I also know someone in another program and her content is very similar the only exceptions is they have exams instead of a weekly quiz, her instructors does not do a live session, and her program has lots of group work. All programs are going to have some busy work.
