  1. Hi its tricky. Many pros and cons. The amount of school work is considerably higher than other NP schools I know about...e.g.National university. E.g. adv pharma class: every week: 2 discussion posts with 4 replies (discussion posts are long here as they have 2 case studies with 4 points to answer for each), 1 paper at least 8 pages and test. Wayyyy too much. But having said that if you do well on papers and discussions you only need 40% on the tests. But discussions are not automatic 100% points like other schools...depends on teacher but they want reference in each paragraph, perfect apa and socratic reasoning... Adv. Patho was better as it only had 1 discussion post and not 2 and only 2 papers total and test every week with totally random questions. So its quite some busy work:( but there are some good things e.g. I found the school well organized, prompt replies r.t.processing my preceptors atd. Which many schools are not great with. The fact that they are organized is a big plus. Pist masters pmhnp is 18 months. You do need to find your preceptors 100%. Their placement pledge is worthless but thats same with all schools. There is facebook page herzing pmhnp ...for more resources... So I don't know...I will see in these next 2 classes but still thinking about transferring to national university. Ps: if you go for herzing you can get 25% discount for being member of national Hispanic nurses association...you don't have to be Hispanic to join:).
  2. Please, make sure you email to program chair. The more of us let her know, the better.
  3. I totally agree. I have emailed to program chair about the insane amount of busy work but got no reply. The busy work does not leave any time to actually study for the weekly quizzes. It takes me 3 days just to get through the busy work.
  4. I agree. The workload is way, way, way over the top and the grading is very weird. I am seriously considering transferring somewhere else.
  5. Shaddow health has unlimited amount of attempts. Not too many kinks and 8ts well organized but the amount of work for each module is clearly insane and unheard off eg. Adv. Pharma now has each week: 2 discussions, 4 replies, paper assignment 8 pages and test. The program is well organized and gives weekly live lectures
  6. Hello, I am going to take adv. pharmacology (part of NP Program) at Cox college...how much school work do you have there weekly? Meaning: do you have 1 discussion post, 2 replies, and a test weekly, or do you have papers as well and tests are biweekly...I am just trying to see what kind of school work and how much to plan for? Thank you. PS: I am transferring from Herzing, so I am totally new at Cox.
  7. Yes, starting it on Monday too. I also joined facebook herzing pmhnp group.
  8. I am starting it on March 8th as well. My professor is Wilson. I heard its 2 discussion post s, 4 replies total, 1 paper and test each week.
  9. Yes, starting next week amd taking both patho and pharma together.
  10. Awesome! Huge congratulations! You did it.
  11. I think we will both rock. How did you learn about Walden s accreditation difficulties and criminal investigations? They didn't tell me. It was a fellow student on this site that gave me heads up.
  12. Thank you, dear One. That is a great tip to try to get high points at the beginning so that I do not have to work so hard at the end of the class. My advisor said 10-15 hours a week, so that is my plan (at max:). Just hoping its doable. I was thinking about going with Walden but their postmasters is still not accredited and they are under DOJ criminal investigation specifically for their nursing programs so that can be a bit tricky. All the best on your journey and lets keep in touch. Jari
  13. THANK YOU. You are very kind and caring Soul. I am grateful for your insight and help. If it wasn't for you I wouldn't know anything about Walden s criminal investigation and wasted my time and money there. It looks like I will go with Herzing for now to do my 3Ps and then try to transfer to National University in July as their program is only 1 year and they are online and brick and mortar as well. I thank you from the depth of my heart and many blessings on your journey. Love, Jari Pohankova
  14. You are very kind. Thank you. I just wish it was less than 24 months and no clinical hours for advanced physical assessment class because it is extra work to find preceptors for non--psych classes during pandemic but others have done it so it must be doable. Much, much gratitude.
  15. Update on the post-master's PMHNP program? How is everyone doing? Difficulty level? All the best to all of you, Jari
