I'm in the same boat - 4th semester, with a ton of paperwork and projects to do (community service project, teach 1st/2nd semester students a nursing skill, major careplan project), plus clinicals, preceptorship and synthesis class. I passed my 3rd semester classes, but barely passed one of them, and studied my butt off for that one.
YOU CAN DO IT! You're you, not everyone else (I know of 3 people who failed the class I barely passed). Seek out the nursing tutor in your school, plus get into a study group, that helps a lot. Don't be afraid to ask questions, and go to your favorite instructor to ask for help; you're paying them for that anyway!
Good luck, and remember, you can sprint toward the finish or you can crawl - the choice is up to you!
hi there, i am also a student at pasadena city college RN program. what was it about 3rd semester that made it hard? do others know why they failed? how did you pass second semester? i am in second semester and i failed so i have to retake. would you have any tips for passing second semester? how did you study?
I'm in wi and can tell you that 4th semester theory was the worst! Other students disagreed and thought 3rd was the worst. Don't listen to anyone else! I hate that when instructors tell you how you'll fail miserabley if yada yada yada...... All you can do is your best. Take a deep breath and go into it knowing that you're going to do your best and that it will be fine. Good luck

I am in pasadena city college RN program. I am flipping out because most of my friends failed 3rd semester and i barely passed. It was really difficult. Then for added scare, my instructor tells me if i was struggling in 3rd semester.... then in fourth i wont last two weeks. The 4th semester will start in August 28 and i am just going crazy. They added on this new test that is similar to the NCLEX and you must pass with a certain score or fail the program. i have 5 tests: Neuro, respiratory, hemo-dynamics, cardio, and leadership and then the final. I need any sort of information. And to anyone that has taken the 4th semester in pasadena, please any kind of suggestion is helpful.
