  1. What is your reason for moving in the first place?
  2. The student was not seeking occupational advice, so no, the teacher has no business sharing her feelings/impressions in that manner.
  3. I believe they start with 60 students in 1st semester. They say they choose their generic students by lottery. Don't know if this is really true. You are wait listed - chances of getting in are good. PM me if you want any more info.
  4. I attended PCC and had a great experience. Our pass rate is high, campus is safe & teachers really know their stuff.
  5. I can't answer your question but can give you more info. The ONS has a webcourse titled "Safe Handling of Hazardous Drugs", which I am told is excellent. www.ons.org/CNEcentral Best Wishes
  6. I agree with Diane-RNstudent. In addition, is there a possibility to volunteer at that particular hospital? Even as a general volunteer (non-nursing)? Networking through the institution could be a way of making this happen for you.
  7. I am a PCC grad from Dec 2007. It is my understanding there is, infact, an entrance test (new) and no, there is not a 5 year wait. I am a big fan of their program.
  8. I would do it in a minute. You mentioned this opportunity is exactly what you want. If, in your heart of hearts, this is what you want I, personally, feel it would be worth it. I have had a commute like this in the past and, personally, for me, it was fine. From what I hear there are few, if any new grad positions in Boston, where as NH and other areas (I hear) have more.
  9. You did say Bay Area, did you not? I believe this is the reason why you have not had an overwelming response to your resumes. As per other threads, there seem to be very few positions available in the Bay Area. I only know what I have read, since I don't live in No. Cal. but please do seek threads on this topic. You are not alone. Best Wishes.
  10. Have you considered Portland Oregon, Seattle Washington or Madison Wisconson?
  11. I did my 4th semester clinical rotation there. I would spill the beans but am unsure what you want to know. PM me with specific questions. Oh, by the way, staff parks about 1/5 mile away and walks or takes a shuttle.
  12. My friend worked there for about a month. She mentioned they pay poorly. Best Wishes
  13. Since you asked, I shall give my opinion. If your heart is set on this particular program I would do the following. I would run, and I do mean run to enroll in the fastest CNA class I could get into and quickly get a CNA job - even if it were part time, not what you want, ect. Best wishes.
  14. To apualyssa*, Glendale Community College has a night/weekend program.
  15. You had to say something, you were given no choice. You will sleep better tonight knowing you took the high road.
