Help! I think my boss is having an affair with a coworker

:uhoh21: Help, I think my supervisor (is the DON) is having an affair with a coworker, I will not state who is the male or female, but it is so painfully obvious something is going on. He/she is just gushing over the supervisor. Yesterday I think I walked in the office as they were doing something because I overheard one of them say "you better watch out" as I was entering the office. OMG, one of them is married, and it is purely uncomfortable. I really want to say something but don't know if I should. I was thinking along the lines of "what you do outside of work is your business, but what you do inside of work affects all of us". it is kind of sickening actually. :barf01: :barf01: :barf01: :barf01:

Any advice from "professional people" who actually act like grown-ups at work?

Exactly. Unless you've caught them in flagrante delicto, all you have are rumors and suppositions...not exactly enough to go to admin. about.

Just pay attention to your patients, keep busy with your own work, and try not to get caught up in the rumor mill.

But...if you have a mean streak...leave one of them a note saying that the other one has "done several of us...please be careful!" :chuckle

I have to add my .02 to this one. Definitely MYOB. No one is sexually harrassing you, from what I gather. You may not like what is going on, and I'm certainly not advocating for what they are doing, but, believe me, there is so much garbage that goes on every single day out there, in the workplace/world....it would drive you nuts! When I'm at work, I just remind myself why I am there, grit my teeth and go about my business. I usually have enough drama going on in my own life to distract me from others! LOL!

i have to add my $.02.

years ago, i inadvertantly walked in on the don and the medical director of the er (both married) in an exam room. it was painfully obvious to me what was going on. since the exam room was right across from the elevators -- and i wasn't anticipating it being occupied -- i turned on the lights and stood there in the doorway with my jaw on the floor for long enough for a whole elevator full of folks to catch an eyefull as well.

the don lost her job, the medical director of the er lost his wife and i got lots of teasing/harrassement for years. the whole event may have been what hastened my departure from that unit -- the head nurse arranged for me to transfer to micu when my probation was up.

mind your own business -- i would have had i had a choice.

Interesting how the DON lost her job, but the doc didn't. They both should have been out on their kiesters.
