Just got my Hba1c back and it is 6.9%:balloons::balloons:(it was 7.9% when I was diagnosed) My cholesterol is 4.5 and I have lost 30 pounds since July:balloons::balloons:Determined to keep losing weight and keep the BS down. Does anyone have a recipe for Royal icing or christmas cake icing made with splenda or any other sugar free product.I am a real christmas cake addict and don't want to miss out! My diabetic nurse suggested I could have a small piece of cake (she doesn't know me very well!!)

Alrighty then, I've lost track, would one of you left-brained (lol) people tally up since the last total? And Muffie, you didn't say how many more pounds that is and I'm not sure (but I AM sure I am proud of you! and everyone on this thread!)

Zoe, I have no idea where I am weight-wise since my person with the scale is off on a vacation in Hawaii - how dare she anyway, LOL! So just count me as the same as before with your tallying.

Steph - I so know what you mean about cravings coming back. I am fine until I get that first taste, then it all goes to . . . well . . . you know.

Don't worry about a couple gained pounds you guys, a few can be removed, it's the constant putting on of pounds that don't come back off that you need to worry about. This is the time of year that is hardest on us all. We shall band together and survive the Holidays! Y'all with me? I'm determined this year!!! (Actually, I maintained last year, so that was a triumph, so we shall see if we can do even better this year!)

Ok, so I ate bad yesterday (3 bowls of home-made soup, some chocolate-caramel pudding, and some of those stupid but oh-so-addicting AirHeads - ack!) but exercised good - 30 minutes on the NordicTrac, 5 on a stair-stepper (which almost killed me, LOL - and here I thought I was in shape - ha - nothing like a stair-stepper to humble one rather quickly!) & 5 on some bizarre cardio-glider machine. We found these over at the community building and they are old, but serve their purpose, WooHoo!!! So I'm gonna try for that again tonight after class. :) Yeay! I want to work my way up to at least 10 minutes on that crazy stair-stepper by December if I can. It doesn't seem like asking so much until you get on the darned thing, hehe.

As to banding together - last yr I got a huge box of candy, some homemade, from a so-called friend who KNEW I was avoiding sugar! That I think was when the slip started sloping lol

LOL! I know that feeling. That's why I'm thinking a virtual pact may help a bit. If I have to confess to y'all that I've been bad, maybe I'll be a tad more inclined to be good, hehe. My exercise buddy is helping a lot, but I figure the more people I have to confess to, the better I'm likely to be, at least that's my hope. :D

Too bad we don't live closer, we could use that equipment together, dratted time and space and all that, LOL!

Oh My Goodness - I have walked 38 blocks today - 30 down to the Courthouse and back and then to FexEx to mail some things off......boy, I am tired right now!!

This candy came in the mail all the way from Cal-ee for-ny-ay ... I had already told him not to send it! So I will be prepared to take it to work (I should probably take it to the dumpster!!)

Great job with the walk Diary, I sooooooooo love to walk!

Well, it's getting colder here and the walking outside is definitely finishing up for the winter - the wind was blowing in nice a frigid last night - brr!!! I went over to the community building after class last night and did 30 minutes on the nordic track thing, 5 minutes on the stair stepper, and 5 minutes on the cardio glide - WooHoo!!! Of course, that put me at getting to bed at midnight, but that's ok, it was worth it! :) I am starting to feel better now, my legs didn't hurt near as bad as they did the first time I did that, so yeay! I have also been good on the food - well, sorta - bad food, but in moderation. I had chips with salsa yesterday, but I mashed up the chips in the salsa and ate it with a spoon so I only ate 7 chips and the rest was the veggies from the salsa with a little spoonful of sour cream mixed in for flavor. Then I had some of those stupid AirHeads again, but thank goodness they are gone and they are not the worst as far as candy goes, thank goodness. I was proud of that. :) I had a grapefruit after class. WooHoo!!! I am back on track and hitting it hard!
