To be honest with you all in Texas there are jobs for CNAs that pay more than 14.00 and hour. I think it may depend on where you live. Texas has LVN,, RN , BSN, NP, ETC. I do not think the argument should be how much someone who went through this programs makes. I think it should the quality of education that they have. As I stated before If you are an LVN who makes 14.00 and hour and you are upset because someone with less training like a CNA makes more than you, you are not working at the right company or State even. I know that some LVNs start off around 12.00 here. Which is clearly less then a CNA making 15.00 and hour here. There are also LVN that make well over 25.00 and hour here and CNAs that make 6.00 and hour. Again, it depends on where you work. I don't feel that a LVN who makes 12.00 should be mad at a CNA who makes 15.00. She should just do her homework. :chuckle

Would it be legal for someone to print out these discussions and mail them to this so-called school?

Trina, I think the point was that these people were being promised that wage when they aren't even attending an accredited school of nursing. The school appears to be offering fraudulent certifications, illegal titles (Basic Care Nurse), and the poor suckers that get taken in by them end up without even a CNA certification.
No one is angry with a CNA in another region of the country where the wage structure is different. The school in question is not producing CNAs.
The skills I saw listed sound like those taught to medical assistants. Office skills, EKGs, etc. This is probably an MA program under the guise of a "nursing" program. Since MAs work under doctors, it doesn't surprise me that doctors would teach it. From what I understand, an MA is allowed to do whatever their boss (the doctor) feels they're capable of doing. No wonder nurses are fuming!!
what do doctors know about teaching nurse's!!!!!
absolutely nothing!!!!!!!!
one would think that anyone interested in healthcare would have by now, did some research on nurses and know that the whole main reason for attending nursing school (other than to prepare for pt care) is to pass the nclex. is this school lying to these people about testing after completion or are they too stupid to ask? i feel sorry for these students because when they get done they have a hard slap in the face coming. :angryfire

I have the feeling that the people enrolling in this program cannot qualify for college entrance, and this program is taking advantage of that. Much like medical assisting programs, they cost too much and the pay is terrible. People often do not research what they are getting into, and will not go the extra mile to fulfill the requirements for college entrance, such as high school education, SAT's, etc. Patients do not deserve to be thrown into the care of people who cannot persevere through a traditional nursing program. And my really big question is, WHAT DO DOCTORS KNOW ABOUT NURSING? It is a completely different practice!
