I am freaking out!!! I sat for the NCLEX-PN on 9/4 and tried the PVT trick. It has constantly been the pop up "The candidate currently has test results that are on hold. A new registration cannot be made at this time."I'm just not sure what could have caused it to be on hold (based on all of the things I've read out here). I took it in a reasonable time I'm guessing (about 1 1/2 hours), cut off at 85. I had a ton of SATA's!! But I'm just not sure. I have seen updates where they were on hold and eventually passed, but I would like to know if anyone has had results on hold and failed?...

Yes people have failed post hold. The same number of people that fail post hold mimics the same number of people who fail without having a hold/QA-QC audit.

People who had results on hold also had results invalidated and the incident reported to the BoN (most often cheating, brain dumping pre-test or unauthorized access to test prep materials or cell phones). Unless serious infraction most pass.

Unless you cheated, hold is not indicative of pass or fail

Most common hold lately is due to palm vein scan issues. Second standing up rather than raising hand. Also power glitches, computer glitches or similar out of the ordinary issues.

Your hold may not be lifted until Tuesday as this is a holiday weekend

Thanks JustBeachyNurse! Oh no, I definitely didn't cheat. My cell phone was in the locker the entire time, I didn't take a break and I only used the scratch pad maybe twice and well into the test. Guess my patience will definitely be tested on this!

Oh! How could I forget this little fun bit... I was scheduled (along with 29 others) to test at 8am. They had computer issues. The tech didn't show up until 10:45 am!!! That could be it...

And there you go that's what generated the incident report. Those that don't follow the rules need to worry.

JustBeachy what is "brain dumping"?

keylimesqueez ... it's when you sit down and immediately write down information, such as lab values. Cheating essentially.

JustBeachy what is "brain dumping"?

Writing facts, notes, mnemonics on the white board before the test starts (specifically before the tutorial as specified in the NCLEX rules). You dump all the facts in your brain in essence creating a cheat sheet before the tutorial even starts
