on june 8, 1997, i unknowingly pledged my life to a monster of mind-boggling proportions, cleverly disguised as a nice guy who adored me. for the next 6 years, he lied, cheated, stole, and concealed the fact that he had a 15-year-old daughter from a high school fling. he was verbally, emotionally, and eventually physically abusive. the last time i ever saw him was through the window of the ambulance when i got to go spend the night in the er as a result of discussion of the aforementioned shortcomings. (ain't no man alive gonna hit this girl twice!) extensive research has led me to the discovery that he is truly an antisocial personality, devoid of any conscience at all. he is a truly evil man, in a constant state of decomposition, complete with the foul, rotting stench of the soulless.

this morning, eight months after leaving his sorry a$$ in new mexico and coming home, i got the call saying my legal bond with this reprehensible creature has offically been severed.

Thank you! Believe me, I never thought I could be this elated over getting divorced, but I am tickled pink. I also never thought it could be possible to live with someone for 6 years and never know who he is, but he taught me that when you combine a skilled liar with a trusting woman, it's really not that hard. From now on, ALL my dates get background checks!
