We do not celebrate Halloween as a whole at my school. The K classes are having pajama day, but other than that, no costumes or anything. Some of the classes are doing a special craft or a movie. Also, every Friday we do have ice cream as a special treat for the end of the week, so there is that.
We don't celebrate Halloween either. Neither do the schools in my home district. I remember mentioning this last year and being surprised how many were unaware of this holiday's Christian origins and the fact that many cultures do not celebrate and some are firmly opposed/frightened by the holiday.
We had a no school day Friday for conferences, so our parties were on Thursday. We do the whole thing - costumes for students and staff, parade trick or treating around the school, ect. And yes, true to form, magically, very few kids were sick! This morning however is a different story!

Well, it's Halloween day here at the school, and as predicted by past patterns on "party days", the pace has stalled. Kids just don't get as sick on a fun day. A true mystery of medical science!! Hope you all are getting a similar benefit today. Enjoy it if you are. Come Monday - the day after Halloween, may the odds forever be in our favor!!
