Grrr - MCCDNP Wait list

Hi all!

So the MCCDNP site says "Spring capacities choice change options should become available late in September."

Well, I called today to see when they are expecting to release the choice options because it's already getting pretty late in September - they told me late OCTOBER! :banghead:

Pushing back the date and picking 2 months before nursing school starts seems a little unprepared and unorganized to me.

Well, I have to join in... I haven't posted in a while.

My stamp is Oct/22/07 and I am very discouraged seeing a few June 07 folks didn't even get in. I'm with Boogsdad, I've completely given up.

I haven't posted in a while because I even went to EBSN, to try to get done faster (huge mistake!). I had to withdraw this semester because they went to a six day per week schedule and I have to work at least two days a week. But I would have been taking the Boards in fall of 09... now I'm talking about not even restarting until fall of 09?... or later?

I'm just going to finish my pre-reqs for med school. I'll be done by the time I get in. Getting into RN school is at the ridiculous point.

I've lived in Atlanta and Seattle and it's no different there... I'm over it.

someone asked yesterday how long the wait list is and the advisor said its not at least a 5 semester wait...

AZSamantha, you can always add MCC as one of your choices and give yourself a higher probability of getting in on the next defferal placement. You're so close I'm sure you will be in one of the next placements.

I am confused... so now we are all waiting for deferrals. How often do they re-run to get the unoccupied seats filled?

They do it every two weeks, so I believe next placement runs are November 4th. They do this until all of the spots are filled (and from previous semesters, they are known to call people a few weeks before school starts to place them because someone dropped out at the last minute).

Yea....definitely do that AZSamantha, because from what I've read of your other posts, you have the same date stamp as me and I got in. So definitely fill up your picks with high capacity programs if you can, because you should be getting in!

I still have some hope especially since GCU & ASU sent out their acceptance letters yesterday so if people were applying to MCCDNP and a university - they are probably going to defer with the Maricopa Community College which will hopefully open up some spots for us : )

good point azsamantha about the ASU nursing students.

I have a quick question. I thought you were gonna put down Mesa Boswell as one of your choices. If you did put it as a choice, i dont understand why you were not placed. A student with a time stamp of august 29th got placed there.

Even so you will get in for sure this semester (Spring 09), your are pry like the next person in line. As for us October time stamps, all we can do is Pray. Good luck everyone, november 4th will be an interesting day, LOL.

Hey Archer1121 ~ I actually ended up moving over the summer (to 133rd Street and Shea) so I live VERYYY far from Mesa Boswell now~ Also, I think the person who was chosen for MB was an employee. But to be quite honest, if a spot becomes available at MB, I will put it down and probably end up moving a little closer to that side of town if I get accepted.

I noticed today that 1 person has already deferred at Phx College :up: which I am hoping that I get in through a deferral but I am thinking a lot of people are just going to pick whatever schools are available regardless of how far they are.

I feel bad for the October stamps, I am very thankful that there is still some hope for me but I'll pray for all of you!

Phoenix College now says 1 spot is available instead of 0 which means 1 person has deferred already.
