Grand Canyon University RN to BSN Reviews

Howdy all, I bit the bullet and after much research, I decided on Grand Canyon! Wow, I did not expect BSN schools to be like used car salesmen--hounding me by emails and phone calls. Rather impressed on how Grand Canyon sort of left me alone, but at the same time kept in touch.

Commence my first class Sept 30th, excited, yet very nervous, as I'm not a big fan of school, LOL! I did extremely well on my Associate degree, graduated back in 2009 from Northern Virginia Community College. We shall see.

Would love to hear from past and present Grand Canyon RN to BSN students.

Some work 2 jobs, have kids, volunteer and still find time to do school......so it is very doable.......Some classes are less intense than the others, and a lot depends on the prof, and of course you.

Yep, doable! I mean, I am having a hard time figuring it all out, but just because I just started a job. When I started school I wasn't working yet, just doing the mom/wife thing. I got hired a few months ago, so am still learning everything. It's my first RN job, so LOTS of learning going on.

Hi everyone! I love reading all these helpful tips! I'm so glad that I have found these GCU threads with all you current students. I'm currently in my second class and it's going better than I had imagined but it's definitely very time consuming. I hope to learn a lot more from all of you and look forward to getting to know you guys. Good luck to everyone!

Tough or just time consuming ? You think it's feasible to work 3 12's and do this program ? I am single and do not have any kids

I have a husband with health issues, 7 kids (only 5 at home and one is special needs, so a busy child) I work 3/12 hr shifts, but am involved in union activity, work committees and spend easily over 40 hours a week at work at times. So yeah, single and no kid, it is doable.

The first three classes it seems keep you busy. I remember thinking that I would never get organized to get it all done and just when I thought I got the gist of the class, the next one had even more activities in it. You will develop a method to the madness that works for you. I have a tendency to get in the class room early, look around, grab the syllabus and copy the DQ to Word so I can work on them. I start the initial reading and start my first paper.

Now this is me. Some wait until the last minute and do fine. Do what works best for you.

I am single and no kids, and work 3 12's. You will definitely be able to do this. I do as Tokmom does and get started on things early. You just need to get into the rhythm of things. It will come to you. Some classes are busier, but doable

Thanks guys for all of the responses; they are very helpful! Good luck to you guys =)))

ya, don't be like me and save the papers until the weekend, lol I get the DQ's completed early..then chill and chill, and then complete the paper on the weekend! I keep telling myself if only I had done a bit each night, life would be simpler and I could enjoy the hockey play-offs...but no, I make a million excuses, lol

Has anyone had problems logging on today? I have been trying to log on, but it says that I am not currently enrolled in a class. My past, current, and upcoming classes are not visable. It says, "You currently do not have any courses scheduled at this time. If this is in error, please contact your Academic Counselor at your earliest convenience. Thank you." I am so worried that I got kicked out of my class. I only have 1 assignment left to turn in. Then I still have Capstone to do. My teacher was already assigned for that too. I am kinda freaking out.

yep same message....u can relax now,lol
