Members are discussing the accreditation and acceptance of BSN and MSN degrees from GCU in different states, particularly focusing on the requirement of a preceptorship for BSN programs. There are concerns about certain states not accepting GCU BSN degrees, while others share experiences with the capstone course and offer tips for scholarly activities. Additionally, there is mention of GCU transitioning back to a non-profit status and the impact of this change on students.
Howdy all, I bit the bullet and after much research, I decided on Grand Canyon! Wow, I did not expect BSN schools to be like used car salesmen--hounding me by emails and phone calls. Rather impressed on how Grand Canyon sort of left me alone, but at the same time kept in touch.
Commence my first class Sept 30th, excited, yet very nervous, as I'm not a big fan of school, LOL! I did extremely well on my Associate degree, graduated back in 2009 from Northern Virginia Community College. We shall see.
Would love to hear from past and present Grand Canyon RN to BSN students.
Just go onto other posts and say something...I think u may be able to recieve a pm..just cant responsOh shoot, really? Darn!
Hello Everyone,
Its been awhile. I graduated from GCU this last March & I absolutely loved the program.
If any of you were wondering, it is possible to get into CRNA school with a BSN from GCU. I am posting this because I could not find anything on the internet indicating if any GCU BSN grads had gotten into CRNA school. I'm sure some of us have gotten into CRNA school, but there are no posts or threads of anyone indicating that they got in. It was very difficult and competitive to get in and it took a lot of work, but YOU CAN DO IT!
Hey could anyone PM with any tip for the Statistics class, I'm very nervous about this class and I hear a tutor doesnt really help
Not sure why a tutor would not help...depend more on how good the tutor is. Their are youtube videos..such as Module 1 HLT 362V (2Hey could anyone PM with any tip for the Statistics class, I'm very nervous about this class and I hear a tutor doesnt really help
I'm sorry maybe I wrote that wrong. My understanding is a tutor will help but even with a tutor some people have a really hard time and struggle. I feel this maybe me!

i sent u a PM. The prof I had did the excel portion of each weeks homework..thats what the above video is. But there were still questions u had to do on ur own. Stats is 1 of those classes where it can be avery easy class, as some people get #'s better than others. GCU does have tutors...plus many online refs such as youtube..books... in the ref portion of the class, you find stuff from Displaying and describing data | Statistics and probability |
Khan Academy
I think if you know ur going to struggle, then try and set urself up for success....check on GCU tutors...or find a local tutor where u can meet in person.... I was fortunate my wife loves #'s so we spent a lot of time going through it with me!! Best of luck
Thanks! Its very hard to learn something so new, in such a short time. The portal opens, and for those of us who work, it hard enough to keep up with the assignments let along try to get help and learn something very new. I will check out the video.
Ensure u get a start early in the week on the assignments.....I Pm'd u the prof I had.....she was great, but she was very upfront about not waiting until the weekend to be asking questions.....Thanks! I'm writing a paper for GCU, does anyone know how to cite from the GCU lecture on the portal?
Are u using PERRLA..if not, its a must have! When in doubt, just email the PERRLA staff and they get back to u very quickly, usually within minutes...I'm writing a paper for GCU, does anyone know how to cite from the GCU lecture on the portal?
