Howdy all, I bit the bullet and after much research, I decided on Grand Canyon! Wow, I did not expect BSN schools to be like used car salesmen--hounding me by emails and phone calls. Rather impressed on how Grand Canyon sort of left me alone, but at the same time kept in touch.

Commence my first class Sept 30th, excited, yet very nervous, as I'm not a big fan of school, LOL! I did extremely well on my Associate degree, graduated back in 2009 from Northern Virginia Community College. We shall see.

Would love to hear from past and present Grand Canyon RN to BSN students.

...advice about doubling...hmmm. I can't comment because my brain was scrambled enough just doing one at a time; I just don't have that ability in me to have done that - no way no how. I may have graduated early, but I'd have spent the time-saved in the loony bin afterward so it would have all been a wash.

I only doubled up for 2 weeks on 2 "anything classes" and just finished up with 1 of them. For me, I think it helped focus me.....but I don't work, no kids....I just clean house, walk the dog and cook, lol I think it depends on what ur priorities are and the prof!! If one is a very good writer, would be very doable!

One item I wish I had used earlier..which is FREE for GCU students from the GCU library is RefWorks Research & Resource | Library | Grand Canyon University Library It nicely organizes all the articles one comes across. When ur searching on the GCY Library and come across an article, usually on the left hand side there is an EXPORT option..u export it to RefWorks! And u can create/organize ur folders in any manner wish!

I have doubled up on classes since my 4th class. I wanted to finish in a certain time frame and that is the only reason I decided to do it. I hope I haven't shortened my life by a few years due to the extra stress! It definitely is time consuming especially when working. Some classes are worse than others to double up with. Most classes I doubled up the last week of with the next class. During Christmas and Easter I doubled up 3 weeks I think. I tend to write slower than most so if you are faster at it than I am, it shouldn't be too bad. i am glad that I am at this point though. I am in my last week of Trends and first week of Capstone, but I am on summer break from my job as a school nurse so it is working out fine.

That is awesome, to double up that way, I will have to look into that. I am scheduled for Trends next then Capstone, but have some other classes to finish. I just want it over and the sooner the better, although I do look forward to an elective class named Risk. Would you pm me you Trends instructor and your thoughts.

I had to do 2 "anything classes" I went with AMP 450, finish up tomorrow..and now going into week 3 of HLT 317..recommend both

Flames, I am in Trends now and then have an "anything" class to choose. Then it is Capstone for me. Any of those better than the other?

This is the best thing I have heard for at least a week!!!!

I have I week left of spirituality. ..I cannot wait. What gets me is how the course is so controlled on what you need to read and where from...I found it very religious. Next is patho. My adviser told me it's a hard class..

found Patho to be 1 of the easier classes as one relates to it very easily....Group project was super simple.....1 DQ per week...the case studies were fun..keep an open mind!!

Starting pathophysiology and leadership in 2 weeks any suggestion? Does anyone has a prof to recommend..pls pm if you can I realy apreciate it. I am counting down the classes left...I feel I cannot take it anymore!
