Members are discussing the accreditation and acceptance of BSN and MSN degrees from GCU in different states, particularly focusing on the requirement of a preceptorship for BSN programs. There are concerns about certain states not accepting GCU BSN degrees, while others share experiences with the capstone course and offer tips for scholarly activities. Additionally, there is mention of GCU transitioning back to a non-profit status and the impact of this change on students.
Howdy all, I bit the bullet and after much research, I decided on Grand Canyon! Wow, I did not expect BSN schools to be like used car salesmen--hounding me by emails and phone calls. Rather impressed on how Grand Canyon sort of left me alone, but at the same time kept in touch.
Commence my first class Sept 30th, excited, yet very nervous, as I'm not a big fan of school, LOL! I did extremely well on my Associate degree, graduated back in 2009 from Northern Virginia Community College. We shall see.
Would love to hear from past and present Grand Canyon RN to BSN students.
RobI am shaking my head over here. I did message the instructor. She put out a general notice on the forum reminding everyone to check in to groups. Amazing all but one has surfaced. Now surfacing, does in no way imply doing it intelligently. OMG.... was just shaking my head as one of the gals said "do research/gather info and submit to group for review", and nothing else. Really???? There are six freakin articles - one for each of us if I count right.
Make sure u are checking the class roster....People will drop out and not inform u, and neither will the prof in some cases! I know many don't like taking the lead, but in many ways I have found it less stress!! Maybe a tad bit more work......but I don't think manly like taking the lead so they just sit back and won't post! So everyone plays chicken, not wanting to post, as if they post too much, they get stuck with being in lead. Meanwhile ur just wasting time. Take the lead..ask for who wants to do what--give that a few days..nothing, then start delegating! And they really can't complain as they had options. But most are grateful if someone steps. And keep all conversations on the color forum, lol Guess time to start week 4 capstone papers, have run out of excuses, lol

I have checked the roster. Her name is still there. I sent her a note here a bit ago, hoping to hear back from the MIA student. If I don't get a response via e-mail when I wake up I will post on the thread asking if someone can send her a text. *I tried Imessage and she must not have an apple product, other communication for me is international* I was irritated initially, but now I am concerned for the one we still have not heard from. I also noticed she hasn't posted to DQ's yet this week.
That is basically how lead happened in the group. I typically don't mind lead, as it actually helps my 'analality' as my Mr calls it. Have a health issue that has just surfaced and trying to wrap my head around that, while working to get medical records from the U.S. to Australia etc.... so really didn't want the extra work this time. What is meant to be is meant to be..... I'm lead. LOL

ur nicer than me..I call them out on the color forum! Asking where they are,lol I'm, not here to babysit. or as we did in patho---just carried on without her..she did nothing! But it was to our benefit as the CLC project was really a 2 person task! Hope u feel better soon
Still no movement in the color forum for me. All my group members are still on the roster and have posted in the Forum within the last 24 hours. I have 9 responses in the color forum and the next highest is 2, everyone else at one. Don't know what else to do. I will message the instructor tonight and ask for advice on how to deal with this.
Holy Hell!!!!!
Hello Rob 4546
Just finished that class, lets say it was a challenge
Never, ever understood how people could bypass the CLC forum and have the guts to post on the regular forum. IMO, it's a big ol' snub!

Ain't that the truth! It's kind of like a game of "catch me if you can" with a big middle finger in the air. Maybe that's not how they meant it, but that's how I interpreted it...
I hope this is my last CLC ...... Oh heck, I have one in ethics also!!!!!!
and Patho...
and Patho...
Don't have to take Patho!!!!! Bright sun shining day!!!!! I think I would have loved that class, a true clinical nursing class. I did real good in patho when I took it for my ADN....
Patho is a very easy CLC..really a 2 person project..was glad that 1 gal did NOTHING..worked to our advantage,lol
All these numpties have to do is reach out and ask for help...
Numpties! Ha! I've never heard that, but I must find a way to incorporate that word into my life. I was just commiserating with a friend who is in the same class and the same CLC group as me. We have one person who has only ever checked into the forum once...8 days ago. She hasn't acknowledged her role in the project (she is to do the interview for community health CLC). I just texted her asking if she is still in the group. I also posted to the color forum that I did so, just so everything is accounted for. Between her and another group member who doesn't seem to understand the assignment, it's no wonder I feel like a babysitter instead of a peer.

Did all of you new grads have the same instructor for Capstone? If anyone is willing to share their name I would love to be able to have a few names to choose from when the time comes. I'm starting Leadership on Monday and then just 3 more classes!!
Congrats to all the recent grads! It must be a huge relief and a great feeling of accomplishment!!!!
