There are concerns about certain states not accepting GCU BSN degrees, while others share experiences with the capstone course and offer tips for scholarly activities. Additionally, there is mention of GCU transitioning back to a non-profit status and the impact of this change on students.

Howdy all, I bit the bullet and after much research, I decided on Grand Canyon! Wow, I did not expect BSN schools to be like used car salesmen--hounding me by emails and phone calls. Rather impressed on how Grand Canyon sort of left me alone, but at the same time kept in touch.

Commence my first class Sept 30th, excited, yet very nervous, as I'm not a big fan of school, LOL! I did extremely well on my Associate degree, graduated back in 2009 from Northern Virginia Community College. We shall see.

Would love to hear from past and present Grand Canyon RN to BSN students.

here's something I was pondering later that night...

If absolutely everyone around me was of the same mindset, what are the odds? I mean seriously, if ALL of us were saying that, and typically there are 4-5 ppl in each CLC (x10 or however many we have total throughout the program), and each one of us was that nominated "leader", where were the other 75-80% (the slackers)?? Could it be mathematically possible that everyone in the audience was the one that did the majority of work on every CLC?

I would lean towards the yes department. The slackers are not going to show up for the graduation ceremony. They just wanted to get by.

I think she meant "slacker", tokmom's phone is jacked LOL

ok... so far it is just about the whole group!! Only 2 people have responded with any information for the CLC agreement. Don't get me started on the topic........:angrybird9:

The seating for the grad commencement ceremony was completely random; we did not have to be in alphabetical order or anything. Since all of us were online grads, we obviously didn't know each other from Adam so striking up conversation with those around you was interesting. I mentioned the "CLC" word and everyone groaned, got mad, let out a few choice words, chiming in that they were always the one who had to pick up the slack and do everything at the last minute. We were all like, "YEAH! Those jerks!" So, with that in mind, here's something I was pondering later that night...

I saw at least 5 of my slackers there...I loved that they put their names right below them as they walked up to get their diploma! Maybe everyone had been in at least one bad group and thought they were the offended party??? Idk...

I am dying..... there has been only one person to respond to the CLC agreement that is due tomorrow. So frustrated. Figure I can write the prof and let her know about the lack of participation and note it also when I turn the CLC agreement in. I am at the point if they do not add their information onto the agreement I am not going to put it on there!

I feel for you. Starting my own CLC Project problem. The project is due a week from sunday and we haven't picked a topic or a outline yet. I have made suggestions, made sample outline, and completed the CLC Agreement (except for the assignments). Everyone has given contact information but nothing else. Not even an idea about project topic. Worst thing is I will be out of town that weekend so I need to do my part this weekend!!!! What do I do? I am seriously thinking about doing it myself this sunday, the whole thing. At least it will be correct, nice, and completed ontime.

Seriously considering the same. There were two that in the last half of the day we are to have all of our information in that have surfaced. Waiting on two others to see if they surface in the final hours. I already wrote the professor. LOVE that they added about checking into the group often. :sarcastic:

Tired in more ways than one. Thinking I may end up doing the same with this one..... *sigh*

That stinks, but I understand where you are coming from.

Could you do your part, post it, and tell them to figure out the rest?

That's exactly what I was going to say. IFFFF I had to do it/them over again, knowing what I know now, I would probably do the outline (I always did them anyway), break it up into 4 (or 5, depending) clearly defined pieces for folks to divvy up, pick the piece I wanted to do, DO IT real quick, and post the outline and my completed piece in the color forum and call it a day. And, as I'm calling it a day, be clear about the fact that I'm done (I may even throw in there that I will be out of town and out of wireless-range the weekend it is due), and "here you go!" That way no one will be waiting for you to swoop in at the last minute and finish the whole thing; they will know that you're out of the loop and one of them has to do it if they all want a grade.
