Howdy all, I bit the bullet and after much research, I decided on Grand Canyon! Wow, I did not expect BSN schools to be like used car salesmen--hounding me by emails and phone calls. Rather impressed on how Grand Canyon sort of left me alone, but at the same time kept in touch.

Commence my first class Sept 30th, excited, yet very nervous, as I'm not a big fan of school, LOL! I did extremely well on my Associate degree, graduated back in 2009 from Northern Virginia Community College. We shall see.

Would love to hear from past and present Grand Canyon RN to BSN students.

I think the CLC that really got to me was the one where someone posted as soon as the groups were assigned. She said she hated to do things at the last minute so we should get started ASAP. The rest of the group agreed and I thought we have a great thing going here. Wouldn't you know it, she was the slacker, the one that you never heard from again. I finally texted her several days before it was due and of course she had been busy working. She posted her part on Saturday and said she was working the rest of the weekend! I should have known it was too good to be true!!:crying2:

We "nice" people like to give everyone the benefit of the doubt..don't do that, lol Keep ALL communications in the color forum! If I was a prof, maybe I use to much common sense, but I would mark people Individually. Maybe some do, but they would be in the minority! And I don't like throwing people under the bus, I really don't as I know working full-time, having a family and school on top of that is extremely difficult. All these numpties have to do is reach out and ask for help, and most of us would be happy to do so----just like on the floor!! But no they do not..Oh well! Good times, lol

I am dying..... there has been only one person to respond to the CLC agreement that is due tomorrow. So frustrated. Figure I can write the prof and let her know about the lack of participation and note it also when I turn the CLC agreement in. I am at the point if they do not add their information onto the agreement I am not going to put it on there!

I usually do the CLC agreements..as they are pretty much the same..change a few things...But I normally take the lead right away and ASK people on what they want to do! In ur case...I would go on to the color forum and state......I'm willing to do the CLC, but I need to know ASAP what people want to do....Give them a time..no answer by then..ur delegating stuff! And I would say something along the lines.....I know we are all busy, working hard..families..but this needs to get done and done now! I try and keep it upbeat too,lol

I succumbed to the fact that I was going to end up lead when 2 days after the groups were announced no one had said a thing. Started an intro thread...... took what seemed like forever for anyone to start to introduce themselves, while I could see they were posting on DQ's.

Hoping and praying they get motivated a slight bit even.

Two out of 5 members have posted about the CLC agreement. I feel like I am on an island that echos. :sarcastic:

I will wait until midnight Arizona time to see if anyone else posts. I have put a reminder up that it is due at 2359 on Wednesday. Sorry, but I am not going to bust my hiney for someone else to get a bunch of credit for my work. May sound very selfish, but I will complete the assignment and make sure the prof knows who did or didn't contribute.

Ok.... I think I am done with my rant for the day........................hopefully.......

I actually did that one time and the prof talked to the speaker. You know it's gonna be bad when they don't even do the agreement.

The seating for the grad commencement ceremony was completely random; we did not have to be in alphabetical order or anything. Since all of us were online grads, we obviously didn't know each other from Adam so striking up conversation with those around you was interesting. I mentioned the "CLC" word and everyone groaned, got mad, let out a few choice words, chiming in that they were always the one who had to pick up the slack and do everything at the last minute. We were all like, "YEAH! Those jerks!" So, with that in mind, here's something I was pondering later that night...

If absolutely everyone around me was of the same mindset, what are the odds? I mean seriously, if ALL of us were saying that, and typically there are 4-5 ppl in each CLC (x10 or however many we have total throughout the program), and each one of us was that nominated "leader", where were the other 75-80% (the slackers)?? Could it be mathematically possible that everyone in the audience was the one that did the majority of work on every CLC?
