Grand Canyon University RN to BSN Reviews

Howdy all, I bit the bullet and after much research, I decided on Grand Canyon! Wow, I did not expect BSN schools to be like used car salesmen--hounding me by emails and phone calls. Rather impressed on how Grand Canyon sort of left me alone, but at the same time kept in touch.

Commence my first class Sept 30th, excited, yet very nervous, as I'm not a big fan of school, LOL! I did extremely well on my Associate degree, graduated back in 2009 from Northern Virginia Community College. We shall see.

Would love to hear from past and present Grand Canyon RN to BSN students.

In 1 class, think was...trends..I brought t up in 1 of the DQs that we were discussing how BSN were better than ADN.......I brought up the fact in many of the group projects...there is 1 slacker..and brought up other issues as well, lol And u see those slackers in the next class..next class...so BSN does not always mean better, lol Numpties---pretty sure I picked that up from my military days, lol

If only they were numpties... :roflmao: Some of them truly just don't get it, and those were (notice I threw past tense in there, `cause I'm gradjemacated now HA YAY!) the ones I didn't mind reaching out to. But the majority, like 99.99999999%, were truly just being jerkapotamusses (jerkapotami?).

Some just know that others will pick up the slack...so they do little or none of the work!! I can't wait to be done with the DQs..1 gal posted along response to my DQ......I went and looked it up...very obvious she copy and pasted 4 sentences from the article she used.....not even 1 own word of her own and there was nothing to discuss?? Just makes me laugh......

In my Patho CLC I was basically the only group member that was active in the forum writing and posting to myself because no one ever responded which then I contacted the instructor. When the teacher graded the assignment and took 30points off because she made a mistake, a group member had the nerve to tell me it was my fault for not listening when in reality I did most of the paper myself and made changes that the group wanted me to even though I did not want to. The teacher had to get on my group members quite a few times to get them to do something and then she just said that she was going to give individual grades in which I ended up with an A not sure about any of the other members and I didn't care.

You guys are nicer than I! if I had done most of the work and then someone complained....I would have NO issues in bringing that up in the color forum!! In the Patho class where 1 girl did 0%..at least she said thank you,lol

Flames I kindly checked the student and notified the instructor:) she said not to worry as she has been watching my groups forum and seen that I was the only active one 95% of the time. I got an A in the course and the CLC and I'm sure the group members didn't do that well. The instructor said that she has never had to continually tell students to be active in the forums.

In one class..had the dream team for a CLC...was awesome..I had been private messaging the prof and stated how refreshing it was great to work with an awesome CLC group.....She even stated that it does NOT happen often, lol She did her BSN at GCU and said she stated she came across plenty of slackers in her program!! She really enjoyed seeing how our group got to work and finished quickly!

I think I've only had 2 dream teams in the program.

This just burns my britches. Nobody FORCED these grown adults into school. They KNEW they would have homework.

Why even bother??
